Less than three weeks after Simon Cowell’s secret relationship with Dannii Minogue was revealed, he has asked her to take her old job back as an X Factor judge.

Dannii is now weighing up returning to the show where the unlikely couple began a heated relationship four years ago.

Crucially, ITV and the show’s producers say Dannii will be able to combine the job with her existing role on Australia’s Got Talent. She’s also expected to receive an increase on her £700,000 deal from 2010.

My show source reveals: ‘Dannii has a formal offer from ITV, Thames, and Cowell’s company Syco. The ball is well and truly in her court. We hope she’ll return and think it will be the best thing for the show.’

Industry cynics say Cowell wants to prove the pair get on, despite Dannii’s fury that their former relationship went public. An insider told me: ‘Simon didn’t want Dannii back until the book came out. Then he realised what a publicity coup it would be.’

But sources close to Cowell stress he has ‘always stayed friendly’ with Dannii and they still speak on the phone.

If Dannii turns the deal down, Cowell is said to favour Marina Lambrini Diamandis, lead singer of pop band Marina and the Diamonds. Former N-Dubz star Tulisa will re-sign within days, joining Louis Walsh and Gary Barlow.

 Would love this to be true, I think she'd be a brilliant judge. It would be great exposure for her, too.

Marina actually has talent though, unlike so many of the former judges, she writes all of her songs. More than what can be said for Cheryl Cole and Kelly Rowland.

Still doesn't make her a good judge though.

That's something that you won't know until you test it out though

True. It's just ever since the Demi Lovato/Miley Cyrus rumours it's very laughable who they consider for judges nowadays. I mean even Britney is a bit of a joke.

It would be silly to hire another young female judge because that would undermine Tulisa's newfound golden girl popularity and I don't think they'd want to jeopardise that. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Sharon Osbourne return actually.

Yeah, that I do agree with. I think they should have serious, talented and successful people as judges and people with alot of experience behind them.

hmm shes an alright pick, not been around for very long though :/

I think seen as we have Tulisa we should have an older female judge (not 30 old, I mean like 50+ old)

She seems like an odd choice to me, I like her but can't see her judging that.

Bring back Sharon or I actually quite like the idea of Leona judging because she's an example of the show's success.

The UK possibilities are endless really like Lily Allen, Duffy, Mel C, Joss Stone etc.

I'd like to see someone who's very experienced though definitely and who genuinely knows what they're on about.

Would be a stupid move. She's at the peak of her career right now and being a judge on XF is a huge commitment. Plus, she's more popular in the US than she is in the UK so it doesn't make sense for her to be a judge on XFUK and not the US version.

It's all part of this 'Electra Heart' 'personality' which conveniently lets her go against her own morals. Others would call it soullessness. I mean it's basically the same as saying 'I'm against murder' and then drowning a woman.

I think she'd be a great judge but in my opinion for Simon Cowell she isn't 'big enough' for the X Factor- I think he'll favour someone else.

To be fair hardly anyone had heard of Tulisa prior to XF. Same with Dannii Minogue.

With Tulisa, many people knew about her, especially the main audience of X Factor [late teens/early twenties] because of N-Dubz whereas I only slightly know of Marina- imo Simon Cowell wants a bigger star.
