David and Samantha Cameron were at the pub having Sunday lunch with their children and two other families David Cameron and his wife, Samantha, left their eight-year-old daughter, Nancy, in a pub after having Sunday lunch, Downing Street has confirmed.

She is reported to have spent about 15 minutes at the Plough Inn at Cadsden in Buckinghamshire, before Mr Cameron returned to collect her.

Number 10 says the couple were "distraught" when they realised Nancy was not with them.

It said it happened "a couple of months ago".

The pub is near Mr Cameron's country residence at Chequers.

The Camerons were at the pub with Nancy and their other children Arthur, six, and 22-month-old Florence, as well as two other families.

After leaving, Mr Cameron went home in one car with his bodyguards and thought Nancy was with his wife and their other children in another car.

Mrs Cameron had assumed her eldest daughter was with her father. The mistake was discovered when they got home. When the prime minister returned to collect Nancy he found her helping staff.

Doesn't Cameron have people who are able to "count them out and count them back in" ?

Obviously he's far too busy concentrating on Angry Birds and his tennis schedule to keep tabs on his children ..... oh, and he has to run a country, too .....

with respect Kazanne, how can you just forget your daughter? I'd never just 'forget' about my daughter, doesn't put them in a very good light really. The McCann's did that and look what happened to them.

The McCanns is a totally different thing they DIDN'T take their daughter with them!they left her in a villa alone, this is just a case of one thinking the other had her,and yes i have sometimes thought my daughter was with hubby and vice versa, while she was happily playing in her room,i guess i must be a bad parent as I made a genuine mistake.this is just another pop at Cameron as in some papers it says HE left her when it was clearly both of them that had made the mistake, but fair play to those who NEVER make a mistake!I wondered how soon it would be before someone likened it to The McCanns, sorry FC but it's so NOT like the McCanns. They didn't FORGET her they assumed the other had her.

There would appear to be well over a dozen people having lunch with Cameron - surely the bodyguards should have had the brains to track who was where?

Well, apparently not .....

All children are potential "targets" for all sorts of weirdos, but the PM's are more of a "target" than most, so Cameron was more than a little "careless" ..... :pipe:

The prime minister's wife returned to collect Nancy.

The prime minister rushed back to the Plough Inn in Cadsden, Buckinghamshire, where he found his daughter with staff.

Mail

When Samantha Cameron returned to collect her - after 15 minutes - she was found 'happily helping' pub staff

Telegraph

Mr Cameron jumped straight in the car and rushed back to collect his daughter, arriving at the pub about 15 minutes after the family had originally left.

So was it the PM or his wife?

Since they had been drinking, was either of them 'over the limit' and did they drive back to the boozer themself?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2157912/Where-parents-The-question-little-Nancy-Camerons-left-pub-her.html?ICO=most_read_module

Publican Stephen Hollings yesterday recounted details of Nancy Cameron’s unfortunate adventure as Downing Street gave a full version of 'The Day The Prime Minister and His Wife Accidentally Left Their Daughter Behind In A Pub'.

Eldest child Nancy became separated from her parents after visiting the toilets as the family prepared to leave the village gastropub close to the Prime Minister’s country retreat, Chequers.

Mr and Mrs Cameron, who were travelling in separate cars, each believed Nancy was with the other and were 'distraught' to discover she was missing when they reached Chequers.

Mrs Cameron, 41, who also has children Arthur, six, and Florence, 22 months, swiftly returned to the pub and was reunited with her daughter within 15 minutes.

Yesterday, as the Camerons faced criticism over the blunder, Mr Hollings described the PM as 'a great father and genuine family man'.

Mr Hollings, the former husband of Carry On actress Barbara Windsor, said the family were regular visitors to his pub, The Plough at Cadsden, a Buckinghamshire hamlet a few miles from Chequers, and described the couple and their children as 'charming'.

He said: 'The Camerons had been sitting outside with two other family groups who seemed to be personal friends. Mr Cameron just had a pint of bitter and then they all left.

An insider at the pub added: 'I know there were a lot of children there that day but I still don’t quite understand how they lost their daughter in such a small pub and then drove off without her. You would have thought the security officers would do a head count.'

In a new biography, friends of Mr Cameron last month told how he enjoyed drinking 'three or four glasses of wine' over lunch at the weekend, while one source told the authors: 'If there was an Olympic gold medal for "chillaxing", the Prime Minister would win it.'

Mr Hollings yesterday denied any suggestion that Mr Cameron had more than a single drink.

So, Barbara Windsor used to be the landlady ..... :idc:

That’s one of the few questions Downing Street won’t answer today about an incident involving Nancy Cameron at the Plough Inn near Chequers earlier this year.

Otherwise, No 10 has been remarkably forthcoming about this, issuing a full statement after The Sun’s Emily Ashton broke the story last night.

No 10 said: "The Prime Minister and Samantha were distraught when they realised Nancy wasn't with them. Thankfully when they phoned the pub she was there safe and well. The Prime Minister went down straight away to get her."

Well, who did collect her - the PM (driving after after drinking) or Mrs PM ?

It is possible to go for Sunday lunch at a pub and not drink alcohol.

The PM and his family didn't go to the Plough for lunch - they walked there for pre-lunch drinks and then drove/were driven back to Checquers for lunch.

Mr Hollings, the former husband of Carry On actress Barbara Windsor, said the family were regular visitors to his pub, The Plough at Cadsden, a Buckinghamshire hamlet a few miles from Chequers.

One pint of bitter would leave you under the limit.

It's funny how people are demanding answers, but are only willing to quote and listen to the bits that suit them.

One pint of bitter would leave you under the limit.

Only just (depending on the strength) and not for much longer :

Drivers could be prosecuted after drinking less than a pint of beer or a glass of wine under a shake-up of drink-drive laws.

Transport Secretary Lord Adonis expects an official review of the law to recommend cutting the legal limit from 80mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood to 50mg, as on much of the Continent.

The Government believes this would prevent up to 65 deaths and 230 serious injuries a year. Lord Adonis said there was 'a strong case' for a lower limit.

The 80mg limit means a man of average build could drink up to two pints of normal-strength beer or three small glasses of wine and drive while still remaining within the law.

But experts warn that much depends on the size, sex, and metabolism of the driver, and whether they have eaten.

Well, from your irrelevant comment, it appears you didn't even bother to read the linked articles, otherwise you'd have known that the party didn't eat but only drank.
