Some yearly averages:

2004 - 4.9m
2005 - 6.6m
2006 - 7.0m (37%)
2007 - 9.5m (45%)
2008 - 10.2m (48%)
2009 - 9.9m (48%)
2010 - 11.1m (48%)
2011 - 10.8m and +1: 504k

Any predictions for tonight?

Lower than last year but not by much. I'm interested in how the show does ratings-wise this year.

I should think it's pulled in 9.3m (42%). That figure should probably be boosted to 10.1m including +1 though.

Peak of 9.9m (46%) for an average of 8.7m (42%) for the launch show of ITV1's The X Factor - figures include +1.

Not a bad start at all. Lowest launch figures since 2006 and all that jazz but they're still pretty decent.

Edit: forgot to change these. :tongue: Average 8.1m (39%), peak 9.2m.

8.4m last night (36.1%) and 8.9m with +1
Better than last week, not sure what it peaked at though

Peaked 10.9m (46%) so it done well
Surprised because it was probably one of the worst episodes ever
