I gave it a try last night but it just doesn't seem to hold my attention anymore. I guess I'm one of those who have dropped out.

Maybe it's because of the paraolympics?

And a 33.9% share as well. Though this series has been crap so far so it's good they're falling. Hopefully this will be a wake up call and tell them that the show sucks without Simon Cowell. :(

Why's it great news? :conf:

...Perhaps because the show's been crap since Simon Cowell left and it could give them a wake up call to stop showing so many crap acts and get some better, more harsh judges?

Yes but I don't understand why people who watch a show and come on a forum about it would consider it getting less viewers as "great news". I thought it had improved much more last night, the ratings were probably an effect of the piss poor episodes beforehand.

Not shocked, it's gone down the ****ter - the new TOWIE editing style and more "focus" is total bull**** - just bring back the 2 minute auditions per person in the room with 4 judges...

...Aaandd you're missing the point.

Decline in viewership = more chance of action being taken by the people who produce the show improving it.

It's not that difficult to understand, is it?

Not exactly surprising. The new TOWIE style editing is just godawful. It was a bit better this week though, there was about 12 mins of singing instead of 8.

The lack of viewers is the best thing for the show at the minute. Hopefully it gives Cowell and the producers the kick up the arse they need to get it back on track, if that's even possible anymore.

Last year has hurt the ratings really badly as away from about 3 or 4 acts the others was boring.

Also the judges are so bland that no one cares who has the winning category.

Mel B has just about saved these auditions from a complete trainwreck. I hope they see sense and bring her in permanently next year. Her and Sharon on the panel would be explosive.

Well such shows as X-Factor tend to pull in viewers and vice versa through word-of-mouth recommendation and otherwise. The general opinion at the minute is that the X Factor is crap right now and that reflects in the viewing figures. If people say the show's worth watching, more people will tune in.

People watch the show depending on whoes the judges Redway, the judges are really crap as who wants to watch Gary? Tulisha? Nicole when she starts? and for some people Louis Walsh is the worst thing about The X Factor.

And I do wish it would stop trying to be like TOWIE, it's saw what it done to BB.

Not to be insensitive but Gary came across as a right arrogant tit last year and from what I've seen so far this year, it looks like nothing's changed. He tries too hard to be like Simon.

Mel B should replace Gary.

I suppose Simon putting more interest in the US version has something to do with this.

This tbf. I would rather have 3 women and Louis, that could be very interesting.

Me too, sick of different judges and hardly any acts on really, from the number there used to be.
I will watch the live finals but it has gone stale for me now too.

It's definitely lacked The X Factor magic I agree with you on that Joey.

I really think I preferred it when they just auditioned with the act and the judges,no audience.
I can't put my finger on it but it has lost its appeal for me at this stage.

Also if Ms Cole or whatever she calls herself these days is part of Gary's house auditioning process too, then there will be an even bigger reason to switch off for me.

What's worse about Cheryl Tweedy returning is Joey is that she's paired off with another insufferable bastard who hates all the women on the show.

I'm not surprised. These days we get more 'storylines' than auditions. I swear a couple of weeks ago we got something ridiculous like 8 auditions in the whole hour show :bored:
