Nicole To Be Dropped For Mel B In X Factor Shake-Up?
Show bosses claimed to be plotting for next year's series already...
09:47, Sunday, 16 September 2012

Bosses at The X Factor are already reported to be planning big changes to next year's show - including giving Nicole Scherzinger the axe and replacing her with Mel B.

The Sun claims that execs on the show are so concerned by this year's slide in ratings that they are also planning to delay the show's launch until September next year.

And following her popularity as a guest judge, the word is that former Spice Girls star Mel is being considered for a permanent seat on the judging panel.

A source said: "It maybe airs a little early and people struggle when they might be on holiday or enjoying the sunshine at home.

"And the guest judges just don't work. It's great for audiences who are watching live but it doesn't translate well on the telly. People get confused as the line-up's always changing from song to song."

Nicole was recruited at the 11th hour this year after Dannii Minogue refused a big-money offer to return.

Bosses are claimed to be hoping for a ratings boost for this year's series once the Boot Camp and Judges' Houses stages arrive - along with Cheryl Cole's return to the show as a guest mentor.

Gary Barlow was yesterday reported to have said he would quit if Geri Halliwell ever returned to the show.

Who would you prefer?

I would love Mel B to replace Nicole
Nicole is too focused on being nice 24/7 and can never give harsh comments

Mel B was the best judge to be honest

Would prefer for the whole show to be axed instead. It's way past it's sell by date. :idc:

Poor Nicole, if I knew I was getting written out before the live shows have even began I'd demand to go immediately.

They need to either stick with who they have or just axe the show altogether. Continuity is the key to success in a show like that. They never give people a chance to establish themselves before giving them the boot.

Look at Louis for example, he wouldn't last a second if he were new but because we know him and what he's about we don't mind him being there and if anything he probably is a plus point for the show.

Get Geri back now!

I think Simon, Sharon, Mel B & Louis would make a good panel.

They do need continuity with the judges as Fruity says but also they need to remember it's a singing contest and not let's promote how wonderful the judges are all the time - I'm fed up with the judges thinking it's all about them - more time should be given to the singing and not how wonderful popular and sexy Tulisa is (their opinion not mine I might add)

I don't give a toss who judges it ...Isn't it about new talent, not 'controversial' judges?

I don't like Mel B, she's nasty to some of the contestants for the sake of it, she's trying to create a buzz round herself and be a female Simon Cowell. It would put me off if she were to become a full time Judge/Mentor.

It's never been about talent, it's been about image.

Especially with the average looking girl (she wasnt a stunner) who sang a great cover of Adele/Jessie J, with Tulisa's commemt being 'I just can't see you being a popstar', which just proves my point- they go for image over talent. The Voice>>>>>>>Death>>>>>>>>>X Factor

Considering she's not been on as much as the other judges, you're probably right.

It all went downhill from when Simon picked Jedward over Lucie Jones. That was the turning point. Seems to be it's never recovered since because folk felt cheated by that decision.

mel b is grotesque, shes not honest at all, she doesnt even sing live, shes simply rude, cold and arrogant. she knows nothing about music.

Yes Mel B has been awesome in these auditions and she speaks the truth about the acts 9 times out of 10.

it would be hard for mel be to commit unless she leave xfactor aus as its on right now aswell so times would clash, i dont see it happening.
