because it's a forum where I'm allowed to give my opinion and nowhere does it say it's an appreciation thread.
I gave my opinion, she's not talented, she is extremely overplayed and her voice is whiny.
However, I did compliment her by saying she's had some good songs, so it's not like I just posted to say 'OMFG RIHANNA'S A ****ING SLAG I HATE THAT BITCH'? I had reasoning :]

Some Album news =]

After months of drama surrounding the altercation between Rihanna and Chris Brown, the singer is getting back to business and heading into the studio to work on her latest album. The new album is said to have a "techno" sound, according to People.

"It will be the album to really give her an identity musically," a source said. "It's very techno-based this time around."

See photos of the coolest couples in music

Among the top performers reportedly lending their sound to her new album are Justin Timberlake, Kanye West, Jay-Z, Pharrell Williams and Soulja Boy.

The album will also feature duets, one of which was supposed to be sung with Chris Brown before the altercation that landed the former couple on tabloid covers for months. On June 22, Brown pleaded guilty to hitting her after a pre-Grammy's party in February.

The R&B singer released a video earlier this week publicly apologizing for the incident.

"What I did was inexcusable ... I am very sad and very ashamed of what I've done," Brown said. "I have told Rihanna countless times, and I'm telling you today, that I am truly, truly sorry that I wasn't able to handle the situation differently and better ... I can only ask and pray that you forgive me, please."

I cannot wait! I hope it has a few ballads and that she doesn't change her sound too much though

""The plea works in his favor, because it takes the responsibility for his punishment out of his hands," New York radio personality Miss Info told MTV News. "He can 'pay his debt' now — no more endless self-flagellation. A judge has given him a sentence, and he will follow it, gladly take that, and then he can say he deserves to move on, which is exactly what his lawyer said after the verdict. And the public will have an easier time moving on as well. I think it's good that he didn't plead no contest and that he did plead guilty. That says: 'I'm not copping a plea. I'm admitting I was wrong.' "

Is the poor lad worried about the effects this will have on his career? I'm afraid it doesn't wash with me.

I don't think it will effect his career drastically really. I just think that Rihanna will have hers boosted. Not that she needs it really, she IS Mainstream music in a way. She is always garunteed a top 10 hit, whatever she releases

THE WAIT IS OVA!!! RIHANNA’s NEW ALBUM – RATED R – HITS MONDAY, NOV. 23rd
“Russian Roulette,” first new single pick –written by Ne-Yo – launches worldwide Oct. 20th on radio and on official Rihanna website.
“Russian Roulette” video to premiere on ABC-TV.
Long-awaited follow-up to 2007’s worldwide multi-platinum Good Girl Gone Bad.
(October 20, 2009 – New York, NY) The wait is ova – for one of the most hotly anticipated new albums in recent history, as multi-platinum, award-winning Def Jam recording artist Rihanna announces the completion of her fourth original studio album, Rated R, scheduled to arrive in the physical and digital marketplace on Monday, November 23rd.
Rated R’s first single pick, “Russian Roulette” will be launched at 11:23am EST on October 20th worldwide on http://rihannanow.com. The “Russian Roulette” video, directed by Anthony Mandler, will premiere in prime-time on ABC.
“Russian Roulette” was written and produced by fellow Def Jam artist Ne-Yo, whose long track record with Rihanna includes the #1 hit “Unfaithful” (2006, from A Girl Like Me), their Top 10 duet “Hate That I Love You” (2007, from Good Girl Gone Bad), and #1 pop/ #1 R&B “Take A Bow” (2008, from Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded). In addition to Ne-Yo, other producers and writers on Rihanna’s new album include the team of The-Dream and Tricky Stewart, Chase & Status, Stargate, Justin Timberlake and more.
Rated R is the long-awaited follow-up to Good Girl Gone Bad (May 2007), which contained the non-stop string of hit singles that began with the MTV VMA and Grammy Award-winning global #1 hit “Umbrella” (featuring Jay-Z), then “Shut Up and Drive,” “Hate That I Love You” (featur ing Ne-Yo), and “Don’t Stop the Music.” Good Girl Gone Bad spent 98 total weeks on the Soundscan chart, earned cumulative sales of more than 36-times platinum in at least 20 territories around the world, and spun off the CD+DVD package Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded (January 2009) – which continued the string of hits with the #1 “Take A Bow,” and the #1 “Disturbia.”
Good Girl Gone Bad was the third album release in less than two years by the 21-year old Barbados native Rihanna. It followed-up 2006’s RIAA platinum A Girl Like Me, which contained the back-to-back hits, “S.O.S.” and “Unfaithful”; and her RIAA gold debut from 2005, Music Of the Sun, featuring the world-wide smash, “Pon De Replay.”

Rated R 2nd best album of 2009 IMO [the first being The Fame Monster]

I'm so addicted to RR. It's such an amazing album, I was never a huge Rihanna fan until now, and her live vocals have improved so much! I can't fault her at all, she rocks!

The next single is 'Te Amo'!

“Te Amo” is Rihanna’s Next Single!

RihannaDaily can confirm that “Te Amo” (produced by Stargate), is indeed Rihanna’s follow up Rated R single to “Rude Boy”. “Te Amo” is Spanish for I Love You. As we all know, it was the only track which leaked on the internet that made it on Rated R. It is one of the most different tracks on the album, beautifully written by James Fauntleroy, topped the Brazilian charts and made the Top 60 in Sweden earlier this year even without an official release.

Based on the feedback and poll results, whether the majority disagrees, we should help support it regardless, Rated R is a masterpiece. It will do incredibly well especially in the Hispanic markets.

Make sure to look out for her performance of “Te Amo” on American Idol next Wednesday! The music video is being shot sooner than you think!

New Rihanna single 'to premiere next week'

Earlier today, it was reported that the singer's new release will be called 'Only Girl' and will be the first track lifted from her fifth studio album.

A message on The Big Top 40's Twitter account revealed that the song will premiere next Tuesday.

"New Rihanna song details for those who've asked. It's called 'Only Girl'. It's big and dancey and it gets released to UK radio stations Tuesday," it said.

It has been claimed that the song will not be as dark as the popstar's recent Rated R material

California King BED: 8/10 Best Ballad on the album
Cheers (Drink to That): 8/10 Like the song, but I'm not to sure about the Avril vocals
Complicated: 7/10 It's a nice ballad, but nothing special
Fading: 7/10 Same as above really
Love The Way You Lie [Part II]: 9/10 One of my Faves
Man Down: 4/10 What a mess of a song
Only Girl: 6/10 She doesn't really sing, just shouts :/
Raining Men: 3/10 IDK what she was thinking putting this on the album
S&M: 10/10 My fave song, gotta be a single!
Skin: 5/10 Bit of a meh track to be honest. filler.
What's My Name: 4/10 I hate this song, can't believe it's being released as a single

LOUD

S&M - 8.5/10 - fun, sexy, catchy, and I saw somewhere it described as the 'Rudeboy' of LOUD, agreed with that.

What's My Name? (feat. Drake) - 10/10 - joint favourite with LTWYL Pt2, has a nice easy sound to it and love the 'oh na na, what's my name?'

Cheers (Drink to That) - 9/10 - fun, love the yeah yeah's of Avril Lavigne that some dont seem keen on and just really feel good. 'Dont let the bastards get you down', epic.

Fading - 9.5/10 - from the preview it didnt sound like it had much substance but its definitely the best ballard, rather beautiful.

Only Girl (In The World) - 8/10 - liked it, disliked it and now like it again. Probably the only track which lives up to actually being loud and is for sure a club banger.

California King Bed - 8.5/10 - next best ballard, sung beautifully and love the electric guitar parts.

Man Down - 3/10 - only song Id say I 'dislike' and go out my way to skip it. Its just horrible.

Raining Men (feat. Nicki Minaj) - 8/10 - serious grower, on first play I wasnt too keen but after a few more listens I love the upbeatness of it. Nicki Minaj = WIN.

Complicated - 6.5/10 - nice, sung really well but, bit bland.

Skin - 7.5/10 - sounds quite unsual, would have fit well on Rated R also.

Love the Way You Lie (Part II) [feat. Eminem] - other favourite, loved part I and equally love this. 'Well maybe Im a massive curse' and Eminem's verse are just amazing.

LOUD = Rated R > Good Girl Gone Bad >>> A Girl Like Me >>>>>>> Music of the Sun

Two weeks after topping the Billboard Hot 100 with "What's My Name?" (featuring Drake), Rihanna returned to No. 1 on the chart released Thursday (Nov. 25) with "Only Girl (In the World)," the debut single from her new album, "Loud."

It's the first time in Hot 100 history that an album's debut single reaches No. 1 after the second single does. "What's My Name" dips 7-8 on the Hot 100, though it does take the Airplay Gainer for a fourth straight week. "Loud, meanwhile, debuts at No. 3 on the Billboard 200.

"Only Girl" is Rihanna's fourth single to ascend to No. 1 in 2010, making her the first female, and first artist overall since Usher in 2004, to hit the top that many times in a single calendar year. Rihanna also moves to the forefront for most No. 1s in the millennium (since 2000), as "Only Girl" is her ninth track to lead the list. She had been tied with Usher for the past two weeks, with eight chart-toppers since 2000.

That Rihanna reign just won't let up! :D

Rihanna has reportedly been left "fuming" after Brit Awards bosses ordered her to tone down her planned performance of 'S&M'.

According to The Sun, the Barbadian singer is now threatening to scrap her "raunchy" show at Tuesday night's ceremony in response to a request that the she change the controversial song's scandalous lyrics.

A Brits insider claimed: "Rihanna is fuming about the situation - and it’s left Brits bosses in a panic over what she will do on the night. She believes she won’t do the song justice if she has to change the lyrics and it’s a breach of her artistic integrity.

"She may scrap performing 'S&M' altogether now and choose to do a ‘safe’ pop number to keep the prudes at bay."

Rihanna recently expressed her anger at Radio 1's decision to rename her song and censor particularly risqué lyrics.

The 22-year-old's highly-sexualised X Factor performance in December sparked over 4,000 complaints to Ofcom.

I really don't see what all the fuss is with that song and video, I've seen much worse videos and the song is hardly offensive, the word sex is apparently censored on UK radio. How come Sex On Fire wasn't then?

There have been whispers that Rihanna is already working on her next album. Now Ryan Seacrest confirms reports that the red-haired diva is back in the lab with a new project due later this year.

RiRi, who is currently making her way around the country on her “LOUD” tour, has plans to release her sixth album this fall. It would come as no surprise as she has put out six albums in the past six years, with her most recent project LOUD still spawning hit singles.

Seacrest spoke with the singer’s camp and made the announcement on his KIIS FM radio show. “We can confirm that Rihanna is currently working on material and will release a brand new album this fall,” he said.

Rihanna Axes ‘Loud’ Re-Release; Readies New Album

Given Rihanna’s track-record with re-releases, it was no surprise earlier this year when it was confirmed that the Bajan had returned to the studio to revamp her latest collection of fast-food hits.

Yet, it seems Beyonce’s impending hiatus has this little model excited. For, she sensationally announced today that plans for a ‘Loud’ reboot have been shelved. Instead, the 23 year old is microwaving a new batch of material for a whole new album – which we’re sure will be rushed out before Baby Knowles-Carter hits the scene.

Full story after the jump…

After assuring fans new music is coming “soon” on Twitter, she added:

@RiRisBubblePop I tht abt a RihRelease, but LOUD is its own body of work! Plus u guys work so F?CKIN hard that u deserve to act brand new!!!

Some six years in to the smoke and mirrors Rihanna calls a career, this is hardly surprising. After all, her whole brand has been built on rush releasing material and changing her image depending on the sway of the wind.

Whatever the case, perhaps now the sales and #1 status which have eluded her in the States may finally become a reality. Not that it’s deserved.
:suspect:

Rihanna has teased fans by saying that her new material is nearly ready.

The singer recently confirmed that she has scrapped plans to release a repackaged version of her 2010 LP Loud and will instead unveil a whole new album.

Earlier today, a group of her fans, who call themselves Rihanna's Navy, bombarded the star on Twitter asking if her new material is ready.

The 23-year-old responded "Yassss!". She then added: "Yaaayy I can't wait to start filling u guys in on some details!! *Zips lips*. (sic)"

Rihanna then teased that she will reveal the new music "after CHEERS becomes #1 ;)."

Her new single 'Cheers (Drink To That)' is currently number ten on the US Hot 100, becoming her 19th Top 10 hit in the States.

This is just overkill

Rihanna has sparked speculation that Eminem will feature on her forthcoming sixth studio album, after she revealed she would like to work with the rapper again.

RiRi featured on Em’s 2010 hit ‘Love The Way You Lie,’ which topped the charts in several countries. Now, the songstress has revealed that she would like to recreate the magic with the MC again and described him as a “genius.”

Rihanna told Rosebud magazine: “We’ve already been talking about it,” before saying that she “would love to” work with Em again who is “one of the most clever poets right now.”

Unusual that she has only just finished releasing songs from Loud, and a year between the two albums, she was originally planning a re-release of Loud with added tracks, i bet management decided just to knock a few songs together along with those rejected for Loud and put together a new album. Which is worrying because it makes you wonder how strong the album will be.

This. Not that I was expecting a decent album from her anyways. Loud was piss poor really. It only had around 5/6 good songs (Only Girl, What's my name?, S&M, Cali King Bed, Man Down and Cheers). Rihanna ordered to cover up by Christian farmer

Pop star Rihanna got her marching orders after a farmer objected to her peeling off her clothes while filming a new video on his land.

Alan Graham, 61, pulled up in his tractor and told the sexy singer to cover up and later claimed: "Her behaviour was inappropriate."
Rihanna was recording a video for We Found Love with Scottish DJ Calvin Harris in a muddy barley field near Bangor, Co Down - ahead of three sell-out shows at Belfast's Odyssey Arena this weekend.
The filming was taking place close to a busy dual carriageway when she stripped to a bikini after removing a long checked dress. But the sight became too much for Mr Graham's Christian beliefs and he politely asked the filming to stop.

The father of four, a member the Democratic Unionist Party on North Down Borough council, said today: "She understood where I was coming from. We shook hands and parted company on good terms."

Rihanna has stormed the Billboard Hot 100 with her new single 'We Found Love'.

The Calvin Harris-produced track, which was released last week, debuts at number 16 on the tally after shifting 117,000 downloads.

The entry is Rihanna's second-highest debut on the chart, after her Eminem duet 'Love The Way You Lie' started at number two last July.

The track will be available to download from midnight due to "overwhelming demand" and to coincide with the start of the UK leg of her 'Loud' tour.

'We Found Love' serves at the lead single from Rihanna's as-yet-untitled sixth studio album, which follows on November 21.

The release marks the latest instalment of the 'Rihanna: Unlocked' campaign, in which more of the album's details will be revealed after her fans complete a series of "missions" via her official website and Facebook page.

News of the song's release arrives after a cover version of the track entered the iTunes chart at number 22 yesterday.

The singer's new waxwork was unveiled yesterday at London's Madame Tussauds.

Looks like Maroon 5 will never get that number one

Rihanna has announced the title of her new album.

Talk That Talk has been unveiled as the name of her sixth studio album on her official website.

The title of the LP, which is out on November 21, was revealed after fans of the star completed a series of "missions" as part of her "Rihanna: Unlocked" campaign on her official website and Facebook page.

Talk That Talk is Rihanna's sixth studio album and follows last year's Loud, which has sold more than 1.7 million copies in the UK alone.

She is currently on the UK leg of her 'Loud' tour and kicks off a record-breaking ten dates at London's O2 Arena on October 5.

It was recently confirmed that the record's lead single 'We Found Love' will be released in the UK tonight.

I don't like that name:(. I would love Rihanna to do a duet with her bezzie mate Katy Perry though and Russell Brand to make a cheeky appearance!:joker:

The album title is very meh, I doubt she'll ever make an album as good as Rated R again though. Or even Good Girl Gone Bad, for that matter.

We Found Love now on iTunes I see, wonder how long it will take to get to number one, I think it'll be there by 12 noon.

Rihanna roars to a 20th Billboard Hot 100 top 10 single faster than any other solo artist, as "We Found Love," featuring Calvin Harris, darts 16-9 in its second chart week.

Having first graced the Hot 100 the week of June 11, 2005, with the eventual No. 2-peaking "Pon De Replay," Rihanna reaches 20 top 10s in a span of just six years and four months, besting Madonna for the quickest collection of top 10s among soloists (from an artist's first Hot 100 appearance) in the chart's 53-year history. Madonna tallied her 20th top 10, "Hanky Panky," the week of July 28, 1990, for a stretch of six years and nine months after her chart introduction with "Holiday." Rihanna, thus, bests Madonna's mark by five months.

Among all acts, Rihanna's run to 20 top 10s is the second-fastest. Only the Beatles sprinted to the sum more quickly, taking just two years, seven months and one week between their chart entrance with "I Want to Hold Your Hand" (Jan. 18, 1964) and "Yellow Submarine," which sailed 52-8 the week of Aug. 27, 1966. The Supremes are pushed to third-place among all artists, having collected their 20 career top 10s in a span of six years, five months and one week in 1964-70.

With the vault, Rihanna becomes the 14th artist to garner as many as 20 Hot 100 top 10s and just the fifth woman to earn the honor. Among women, Madonna leads with 37 top 10s - the highest total among all artists - followed by Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson (27 each) and Whitney Houston (23).

Prior to Rihanna this week, Carey had been the last artist to reach 20 top 10s when "Thank God I Found You," featuring Joe and 98 Degrees, blasted 22-2 on the Feb. 12, 2000, chart (a week before it led the Hot 100 for one frame).

Notably, in an era where songs can scale the Hot 100's upper reaches in their debut week solely on the strength of hefty first-week digital sales, all 20 of Rihanna's top 10s have received radio support concurrent with their moves into the Hot 100's top 10. Seventeen of the 20, in fact, have reached the top 10 on Radio Songs, with eight bounding all the way to No. 1. And, even the three songs that missed the Radio Songs top 10 still made the list's top 40 ("Break It Off," No. 11; "Russian Roulette," No. 35; and, "Cheers (Drink to That)," No. 13).

"Found" jumps into the Hot 100's top 10 with dual Digital and Airplay Gainer accolades. The first single from Rihanna's sixth studio album, due Nov. 21, charges 7-6 on Digital Songs (147,000 downloads sold, up 25%, according to Nielsen SoundScan) and 75-38 on Radio Songs (33 million audience impressions, up 129%, according to Nielsen BDS).
