I was in tears reading his story,I was expecting the usual 'my parents divorced' or 'I'm doing this for my gran/grandad who passed away' his childhood sounded horrific! and then to lose his big brother...:(

Supermarket chain ASDA has named a Chinese takeaway meal after The X Factor's Jahmene Douglas.

Bosses are showing their support for the singer, who used to work in one of the firm's shops, by releasing a limited edition chicken chow mein which will be available nationwide until Sunday 18 November.

The packaging features a picture of the aspiring pop star and 23 pence from each sale will be donated to charity Women's Aid.

A spokesperson for the shop said: “We're so proud of Jahmene and all the incredible performances he does week in, week out on The X Factor, so we really want to get behind him and offer our support.

“Chicken chow mein is a weekend favourite, and we hope that by renaming it after him, we'll be able to raise lots of money for Women's Aid.”

The dish will cost £2.25

Me too! He had me hooked from his shy, seemingly no - hope pre - audition vid to bringing the house down with 'At Last'.

I've been replaying his performances on utube this evening. He is so different from the usual parade of ego's and diva's. We have never seen his like on X Factor before. He's this quiet, humble little thing with a nervous giggle who transforms into a magnetic, powerful performer as soon as he opens his mouth to sing. It's like he enters another sphere of existence and brings us with him - or those of us who get him anyway. It's amazing. :worship:

I have been trying to work out why I love him so much (apart from his fantastic singing voice and stage presence of course), and then someone said tonight that he is 'spiritual'. That's the extra quality that no - one else has. He has a gentle, pure spirit. Good luck kid. :love:

Amid all the nonsense and drama, Jahmene had come out week after week and just sang his heart out. He has never run anyone else down, or made himself out to be working harder than everyone else (unlike a certain someone). He just gets on with it in his own quiet, humble, gentle way. He is dignity personified with the best voice to boot!
He has come so far and we need to make sure our boy takes the Crown!!! :dance:
