Two terrible song choices from Gary in two weeks

Gary has been awful mentoring wise this year, first Starships for Carolynne which was an insult, and now the overplayed quite dull Paloma Faith (INXS etc etc) song sees another one of his acts out, Kye's lucky to still be there too

Thought the choices for Kye and Christopher were atrocious too. Gary doesnt see to have a clue this year :/

Gary's been given the dud category to be fair. I think he picked the right contestants for the live shows, I just think he's trying to make them appeal to certain audiences that aren't interested. Carolynne singing a country version of Starships looked ridiculous and she was rightly booted out. Melanie singing an obscure INXS song (I don't know, I've certainly never heard it/of it before) was a bad decision too. Christopher'll probably be next out and at the rate Kye's going, he'll be lucky to make the top six. The votes are pretty unpredictable this year though. Hopefully once Christopher's been given the boot, Gary will really dedicate his time to Kye and get the best out of him, because the guy is pretty talented.

Hopefully Simon gets his way with ITV and gets Gary replaced next year, or ideally come back himself. The judges saying the talent was 'off the scale' back at the auditions makes me wonder, well where is it?

This is probably the worst final 12 in the shows history tbf.

He made a bit of a mistake not taking Brad to the live shows he was a bit of a character had a decent enough voice and would have appealed to a certain audience, can't see Chris or Kye lasting long either though

I actually think for the first time in a good while the overs was a good category with some really good singers this series.
However the 'live' finals are often dependent on matching the right song to the right person and Gary has failed on all counts with his acts.

He has especially failed obviously with the 2 Female acts he had, who were really good but his song choices let them down and subsequently he has had for 2 weeks in a row not only an act in the bottom 2 so early in the series but also the 2 acts who got the least votes cast for them by the public.

Perhaps if he dropped the smug, arrogant attitude and got on with really planning carefully for his acts he may get some success,Kye is his best shot now this series for me,I hope he doesn't mess that up too.

The 'live' finals though always help destroy acts too,the themed weeks and the songs they have to choose from are often songs they would never try to do or want to do.

He wasn't really much good as a mentor last year either, I mean Frankie had about as much talent as a Wagner/Chico/Jedward supergroup, and Marcus probably had the worst final performance in the shows history. Both Marcus and Craig had terrible song choices most of the way through.

Louis getting the same categories since S2 has pissed me off for so long now, it's about time he was given one of the other two (I'd give him the Boys personally since he won with Shayne). Clearly he's perfectly capable given the right category but it's a bit unfair and rather predictable just to lump him with the same two year on year. Gary should've had the Groups this year, Louis the Boys, Tulisa the Girls and Nicole the Over's (she had them in the US surprisingly so don't see why she couldn't get them here).
