View Full Version : Jahmene is phenomenal!

He just blows me away with the mixture of his emotion/voice - and the fact he is shy and not your usual X Factor contestant. When he is on stage he transforms from a fairly insignificant (seemingly!) boy into a world class act. Amazing! I love him!

He wasn't that great tonight but he's by far my favourite in the competition and I agree with you. I just love listening to his voice, he has a lot of potential.

Are you tone deaf? He is a fantastic vocalist - high notes and every other note - and he has real stage presence. As someone who has predicted who would be the top most successful artists since the X Factor started (before their success) I know what I'm talking about.

No prob. I get why you don't like him as you are a fan of Chris/cheese/cruise ship stuff. Different musical tastes obviously.

I like him but am getting a bit tired of him overdoing every song he does, there is absolutely no need to twist a song so much with high pitched near screaming all the time.

Okay ,he can get a high note and hold it, we get it, some songs never had that requirement though to be a good song and also as with 'Imagine',it is inappropriate to do so too, (no matter what Yoko Ono said, John Lennon wrote that very sensitively and kept it very calm and meaningful).

How the **** did he beat MK1 and Kye tonight? he screeches in that nasty voice of his and his sick attempt of getting further in the competition with his Mother being physically abused by his Father is disgusting and im surprised that nobody is outraged at this? or is it that his face fits the show?

I don't know Mock, personally his voice is my favorite in the competition. I also really like it the way he carries himself. The way he talks, the way he quietly laughs after he talks. I guess I just relate to him and that's why I like him. Plus when he hits those big notes, they really echo nicely.

PERHAPS YOU SHOULD READ THIS AND HAVE A BIT OF COMPASSION FOR THE BOY I think he's wonderful

Douglas and his brothers and sisters endured years of living in fear until things escalated dramatically when his mother, Mandy Wood, got a job at a local post office.

"I got a job and he said I'd never get one," she said. "That's what pushed him over the edge."

Wood explained that her partner flew into a jealous rage, imprisoned her in their bedroom for three days and tortured her.

"It was one of the worst nights ever," admitted Douglas. "I woke up thinking, 'Is she still alive?' He used a blowtorch to brand her, used knives on her, dragged her through the hallway naked by her hair. He threatened to kill all of us in front of her.

"When the police came I couldn't even recognise her face. I was used to seeing her being beaten and having bruises but this time she had hair missing, burn marks and her eyes were all puffed out, black and glazed over.

"I just hugged her. I couldn't say anything. I never did say anything in the house.

"The thing that stays with you is hearing your mother scream and not being able to do anything."
Their father was taken away and was eventually imprisoned for nine years for the attack on Wood, with another six-year term to serve concurrently for rape.

Before his sentencing, the family were terrified he would track them down and stayed in refuges, constantly adopting different pseudonyms.

"Once, the authorities even suggested we move to Australia but we didn't want him to have that much control," said Douglas.

Douglas's father sent threatening letters to the family throughout his incarceration and was later released after serving just five years of his sentence. Shortly afterwards, Jahmene's brother Daniel was found dead having committed suicide.

"I thought, 'What else can you throw at me?'" said Douglas. "Daniel had said it was like living in a box and we couldn't get out. His death switched me off.

Look up the definition of the word bully, I am not a bully and I would never subject anyone to the suffering that I had to put up with when I was bullied so I am very insulted at your accusation.

Also I could imagine that Jahmene would hold his own if someone did accuse him of using this sob story to get further on The X Factor.
