X Factor 2012: Lucy Spraggan won't be replaced!

X Factor bosses have revealed that they won’t be replacing Lucy Spraggan on the show, following her exit.


Lucy Spraggan quit The X Factor 2012 this morning, citing her continuing illness.

The 21-year-old said in a statement: “I am gutted not to be able to continue on this journey but I’m not well enough to perform. To accept another free pass having missed last weekend would not be fair on the others in the competition.

“I wish them all well. I would like to express my thanks to everyone who has supported me. There is no way that this setback will prevent me from fulfilling my ambition.

“You’ll be hearing from me again very soon.”

Lucy’s mentor Tulisa added: “I’m so sorry to lose Lucy from the competition.. I now count her as a friend as she is an amazing girl.”

A spokesperson for the show confirmed shortly after: “Lucy will not be replaced in the competition”

They added: “Lucy isn’t well enough to perform this weekend so she has decided to withdraw from the competition.

“We are all sorry to see her go and wish her all the best for the future. She has been a fantastic contestant.”

I think she would have still have gone, its too far into the competition to bring someone new in, it would be totally unfair on rest. Whats the theme for tonight?

I think she wouldn't have lasted much longer if Lucy's departure meant no elimination last week.

Should do away with the need for a double elimination in the series now. No way would it have been in any way at all fair to be given another bye to next week too.

they already had one extra person, so having 1 leave just means they dont have to have a double elimination
