Romney HQ is not a happy place to be right now, oh well another 4 years of Obama then, quite surprised at the enthusiasm of the support for him considering his first terms been a bit of a disappointment, if the Republicans had a stronger candidate they'd have won

look at the fanfair, you wouldn't get that in uk, they say they are electing a presidant but really they are electing a king, we don't need to show this kind of ovation for our political leader's, because we already have a monarch, he'll get the same fanfair treatment when he leave's his reign, our prime minister will be sent a removal van and get kicked out of number 10, that's what make's us british great, the fact that the most powerful man in our country has to bow his head down to our monarch who stand's for all us british.

Was just gonna say don't see why the gay marriage thing is such a major issue really, plus it's not like Obama's actually done anything to push towards legalising it in 4 years as President and it's basically just an individual state decision anyway

Gay rights and women's rights are extremely important issues for social progression. The Republican's policies are backwards and would send the world back into the 20th century. Comparing homosexuality to paedophillia is disturbing, and criminalising abortion even for rape and incest (and making some abhorrent comments regarding that) is appalling.

Social equality and progression is one of the most important issues in any election campaign, especially the election of the world's most important political figure. Undoing the work of the last 100 years in a four year term is really not even worth thinking about.

How would he do that, he'd pretty much retain the status quo as Obama did for 4 years until that interview where he only ever gave vocal support to it, Obama originally ran for President in 08 on a platform of supporting civil unions but not same sex marriage

totally agree, i know this sounds bad but 9/11 played a huge part in the progression of america, it opened up the eye's of backward's racist, homophobic america, most of the heart of america were so far out of touch with the rest of the world,

without 9/11 obama would never have been elected in the first place, a black president would have been unthinkable, so has i said it sound's bad but 9/11 was a blessing in disguise for america.

hope i haven't offended anybody by saying that, it's just what i believe.

Other results of votes:

Maryland and Maine have voted in favour of gay marriage - it looks like Washington will follow suit, and I can't find any results for Minnesota.
Colorado and Washington have voted to legalise recreational marijuana :o
California may, but it is incredibly tight, vote to repeal the death penalty (although the main argument seems to be that it costs so much to process, and deal with appeals)

good day for liberals :pipe:

Obama still would have won. Americans were tired of republicans after Bush screwed up the economy.

MTVN
07-11-2012, 05:51 AM
Yeah I quite liked McCain but any Republican would probably have lost after 8 years of Bush and he kind of shot himself in the foot by picking Palin as his running mate, if he'd done that again he'd probably still have lost this election I think, especially cos he's 76 now and there's even more chance of him popping his clogs during his Presidency

bi racial is a new word to me, i've heard of mixed race but never bi racial. me personally i wouldn't call him either of them, i'd call him a human being, but i was talking about a monumental piece of america's short history, and he was clearly seen as america's first black president, that's a fact, he was not seen as america's first bi racial president.

I disagree. I love obama , 1) because hes a thoroughly good person 2) he actually makes sense and hasjoined up thinking unlike the mass majority of people in dumbed down times (we are stupider per head in the UK than the US) 3) obama isnot trying to inflame wars, bush and romney were 4) obama is reducing the military to invest more at home, thank God. the US military is way too big 5) the abortion issue will never go away. the debate over it was pathetically shallow, it just didnt get past name calling. the whole thing needs to be run far better, with more regulation, more safe guards, more support and more options made available to mothers and more input from fathers too. the UK has gone too liberal and you end up with 191000 abortions a year the highest level per head on the planet. 6) gay marriage is a trivial matter. gay people in the US have all the rights, time to move on and live their lives. disabled rights and rightsof elderly people must be looked at far better. 7) going after the corporate crooks, regulating them and creating jobs and wealth for the working/middle classes is now obamas main agenda, he will do this way better than romney. romeny simply wasnt much better than bush on the economy, wed have seen more elitist control and another crash in 10 years. obamas building long term economic growth , spreading wealth from the grass roots up. his plan will last.

8) stem cell research is massive too.

9)lastly healthcare was by miles and miles and miles and miles the biggest most important issue. nearly all other issues were trivial. 50 million americans will now receive healthcare treatment as will their children and their childrens children. this is his greatest achievement, something no president has ever achieved.

Just felt like pointing out that you clearly dont check your facts before making posts on such important subjects, instead preferring to make things up to make it seem worse than it is in our country :pipe:

my stats are 100% right. abortion went from 20,000+ to 190,000 over 4 decades, you relaly need to read up on the issue if you really care about the 191000 dead babies http://www.guardian.co.uk/news/datablog/2011/may/24/abortion-statistics-england-wales:nono:

I didnt deny that though. Merely pointed out that the uk having the most abortions per head on the planet was incorrect.

yes you ignored the bigger picture and the enormous deaths of babies, yet again avoiding the actual issue? why?

the poster should not be writing comments like that, theres no irony, no wink, nothing. Its totally sick and irresonsible to write such disgusting filth. shame on everyone who condones loose talk about assassinations and killingmen, absolutely disgusting:shocked::nono::nono:
dictating what people should and shouldn't be saying again i see, some people might not like the thing's you say, you ever thought about that,
they might not like the way you try and tell people what the can and cant say, if he want's to talk about assassinating the president then so what, as long as he dosn't follow up on his action's there's no harm done. free speach should mean free speach or scrap it and surpress our speach, which one do you want?
