The reason ratings are low is because, with every other TV show, people grow tired. And I'm not complaining, the sooner it dies off the better imo

I agree to a degree but not wholly. The moment Simon Cowell chose Jedward over whoever that girl was (she was pretty good), was the moment that X Factor decided to become more of an entertainment show than a music contest. Since then it has focused more so on mainstream pop than actual real talent, that is the reason why people are bored of it. Since then we have not only seen more talentless pop acts (and a gruesome amount of boybands recently) but we have also been introduced to a novelty act every year due to Jedward's success.
Reality shows can stay on for a long while and still remain fresh. Big Brother, for me at least, started getting it wrong with their housemates, which was the reason for their decline. But look at 'I'm a celeb', that is still as fresh as ever and that has been going on for the best part of a decade.

I think the the reason IAC stays popular is that it doesn't come across as manipulative and X Factor (more so than any other reality show for me) Really does, i started feeling stupid for watching it.

It's more than just that, people are tired of it, same old s**t every yearThis. Its so predictable that we have forum members accurately predicting a boy band bottom two almost a week before it happens. We now have a scenario where Rylan or Christopher will Finish in the top 5. So out of all of the hundreds of thousands of people that audition Rylan is the fifth best. I actually feel sorry for people who have genuinely auditioned for this show only to be rejected for the supposedly more 'entertaining' contestants.

It's also because this year is **** and the new voting system has relied on die hard fanbases voting for who they want to save instead of who was actually the best on the night.
Also the judges are really unlikeable and I can't cheer on any of them.

Same old ****, yup, and also what you said, I don't like the tones of males anywhere near as much as that of girls

Anyway, I'd love for the production to overhaul the editing style and go back to basics, just as an experiment to see the public's reaction.

Nope they used to open up the phone lines after the last performance, now they open them up before the show has even started.
