i dont think so!
China and Gabon were two of my favourite seasons!
It started getting BAD after s20 ( although Nicaragua and FvsF2 were OK )

Cook Islands, Tocantins, and Samoa were abysmal and Fiji wasn't much better. Also lol @ this season being okay.

But it wasn't meant to be a comment about the seasons themselves (which have gone down in quality) but the direction the show has headed. Instead of "16 castaways and their journey" it has become a mess of a show. The final three is one of the worst additions possible and just helps ensure production's favorites win, Hidden Immunity Idols are used and rehidden to the point where it's farcical. Like, instead of getting to know anyone or see any interesting strategy we're forced to watch people randomly dig in some faux scavenger hunt, it's really pathetic.

We don't even get to know the players anymore. It used to be about the players and their journey and the characters were actually real people with interesting traits. There isn't even any semblance of characterization anymore, we don't know the players themselves. Russell Hantz has a lot to blame with it since he created the god awful "self-congratulatory, wannabe strategic (but not really strategic) 'mastermind' " archetype and ever since then we've gotten idiots who guzzle up screen time like Marty, David, Jim Rice, Malcolm, etc. Ever since Russell happened there's been this notion that the winner can only be shown in strictly game-related segments to prove that they were a strategic mastermind and deserving of the win and that their win had nothing to do with a bitter jury. It's really disgusting that you're not even allowed to be a normal human being who struggles with making decisions, because ever since Russell happened you need to be a psychotic sociopath to be a respected player. Moral dilemmas like Kelly Wiglesworth were what made Survivor great and now the show is soulless and clinical. Last night's finale just reaffirmed everything that's wrong with the show, and quite frankly I'm embarrassed by it all.

And Black Dagger, get your hands on a good copy of Africa because that ****'s great.

I've heard alot of Survivor fans slag off Gabon, but i agree wioth you, it was one of my favorites, and i really liked the winner. China was also brilliant, because the setting is so different from most of the typical survivor islands, to be on mainland china was awesome. Same for Gabon, because it was actually in Africa, not just some remote island. Also there were great characters and great drama.

I totally agree that china and gabon are in top 5.

I wish they would do more series like gabon and china and australia in actual places on a continent, and not just on little islands.

It would be so cool if they actually picked a remote place in the USA. like in the wilderness of Montana or something.

I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU up to a certain extent. I feel like the direction has gotten worse, but not yet in the teens. In the 20's is when 50% of the cast are from casting agencies and thats where i think the direction has gone bad because its not normal people anymore. But, I did LOVE the hidden immunity idols when they were actually difficult to find, but agree with you that it sucks so bad the DUMB producers want to hide them in the most obvious places imaginable

Like im baffled how malcolms "move" is considered "the best of all time" when all he did was find 2 idols, it took ZERO brains. If they had brains they would have surprised everyone with the idols and voted for 3 different people and watch everyone scramble!

Fiji had ONE person who actually applied for the show. And it was Gary, who had no business being cast in the first place. I'm not completely anti-mactor though because they seriously can deliver, they just need to cast good ones.

Cast ranking~

End of series cast ranking

1. Brenda - No words needed. Probably after this season in my top 10 contestants of all time.
2. Erik - Enjoyable lulzy presence who got ****ed by a ****ty edit.
3. Sherri - Underrated star.
4. Andrea - Like her a lot more than I thought
5. Laura - For always noticing a bulge.
6. Brandon - For the realness.
7. Julia - Only this high for her celebratory tweets when she got airtime
8. Eddie - A douche but come on, a bar with a dog playground.
9. Shamar - "SHUT UP." - Quote of the season.
10. Francesca - lulz.
11. Michael - Mild like for basically no reason.
12. Matt - Mild like for basically no reason.
13. Dawn - So mixed. **** like baking her victims bread is so ****ing hilarious but the jury pretty much nailed what I dislike about her
14. Reynold - MASSIVE douche... but he kinda owned it so w/e
15. Cochran - I don't buy the anxiety crap whatsoever. I think I'd appreciate him more if he wasn't the go-to narrator.
16. Malcolm - Charming but REALLY overrated. How he won fan favourite is so beyond me I can't.
17. Allie - I think she had potential to be a really good character but she came across super ****ty so w/e
18. Corinne - Really try-hard.
19. Hope - Hot but bought nothing.
20. Phillip - Don't need to explain.

I was happy to see Cochran win, particularly out of that final three!
Dawn is such a highly annoying idiot and so unaware. I found her increasingly annoying as the season went on, up until the point where she was making really my skin crawl in the final and the reunion show. Bloody religious idiots! Mormon....... moron...slightly different spelling with exactly the same meaning.

I love Brenda so much. I know she didn't play the best cutthroat tactical game this season but i say good on her for trying to play as herself, a genuine, caring, good-hearted person.
And for those people who think Brandon deserves props for 'being real'.........your'e joking right ? He's one of the most heinous idiots to ever attempt to play Survivor and i really hope they never make the mistake of having that unstable, god-bothering Fuc*wit anywhere near another Season of Survivor ever again. He'd probably be too busy beating his spouse anyway!

Oh yeah don't get me wrong he's completely unstable and I wouldn't want to see him play again, but I strongly dislike Phillip and Brandon was just hitting the nail on the head with every comment he made about him.

Fiji was great, and had one of the most controversial moments ever, when the young black guy, agreed to make a deal with the old asian guy, and then he went back on his word but still kept the car! and even his other black cast mates that he had an alliance with were saying "that's so ****ed up, you have shamed yourself" It was a great series.

It was like watching an episode of star trek, cause there were multiple cultures involved, and deciding what was morally right. I loved Fiji, and i loved the old asian guy. that young black kid was a piece of **** for doing that.

(sorry for describing them based on race, but i really can't remember everyone's name!)

Yau man was the old asian guy, but Earl was the good older black guy i think, not the young black asshole guy.

I liked Earl, he won right? It was the young black guy that i hated. (hated in a general sense, not a racial sense)

The young black guy reminded me a lot of Science(bb6) he was very young and immature and self centered.

General sentiment seems to be that it is the worst season alongside Thailand. Although that may be more true on Sucks than here.

The winner is better than most and Yau Man is a legend, so it has to be among the better ones.

The latest season I thought was very good, the weakest episode was the one is which Brandon was eliminated (no immunity challenge and no proper tribal). Cochran was a decent winner, something that probably doesn't happen too often for me.

Macie Lightfoot

Fiji wasn't worst season ever material but it wasn't anything special. Quite a few bores.

And Brandon's boot was one of the few highlights in this **** season so again lol
