Thats so good, how can Channel 5 not want to provide live feed nightly when they get ratings like this. I mean even if its only a nightly 1 hour live from the house show its gonna bring their nightly share right up especially the time it airs.

I bet if last Friday had live feed it would have rated even better.

And ive learned that you selectively look at posts only picking out the negatives to comment on or quote.

If you look back through this post i have said how impressing Saturday/Sunday and last nights figures were.

Especially the live feed getting over 2 million is amazing.

I also said how much i was impressed with CBB11' official 4 ratings.

Well you have to consider competition and all that. CBB9 had tough competition, but CBB11 has had tougher competition. And CBB9-CBB10 decreased in ratings after the first eviction... CBB11 has increased. Just stating the facts.

It looks likely to average the same as CBB9 and that would be 300k higher than CBB10. Not bad

Might try and track down the +1s for them tomorrow but we didn't always find them out, but as I said the +1s during CBB were rarely 100k+, 50/60k most nights, only about 3 of them so far don't include it.

Amazing for CBB, 2.33m at 10pm is impressive enough, but that peak share is ridiculous, 0.9% off the launch's (average) share, though obviously at a later time. To beat 3 of the 4 main channels as well is brilliant.

CBB8 was skewed by it's launch and if I include CBB8 it makes no sense not to include CBB10 which like CBB12 later this year aired in different circumstances and isn't going to be usefully comparable, might do them as a separate post though just for completeness.

Im gunna be ambitious and go for a 2.6 rating, will probably get 2.4, but even that's a damn good rating. I could possibly see it near 3mil at around 10:15

Well the officials for the first 13 days is 2.82m. With two shows likely to reach 3m (as they both got 2.56m) and then obviously the final could bump it up.

It looks like it will certainly get 2.7-2.8m officials. If it stays at 2.8m, it's the joint highest average of all 6 series on Channel 5.

Yeah when we are seeing an overnight of 1.9 or even 2.1 million its unlikely the final will jump up a million viewers.

I wonder how they'll schedule and promote the two summer series this year? Will they do the same as last year and hope for the best, or will they create more of a gap and properly promote both to boost CBB12 to average closer to CBB11 than CBB10 and give BB14 a higher launch pad? If I was in charge, I'd do something like this:

Tuesday 4th June - Friday 9th August - BB14, preceded by a three week campaign on Channel 5 and in Desmond's mags and papers, billboards, and one ad on ITV, early on the night of the launch
Thursday 15th August - Friday 6th September - CBB12, preceded by a six night campaign on Channel 5 in-programme ads during the last week of BB14, and an ad a night on ITV.

Tuesday for the BB14 launch to give the first storylines a few nights to develop before the weekend ratings dip, a six rather than one night gap between BB and CBB, to allow time to promote CBB (and properly change the house), and billboards for BB rather than CBB, because that needs them more, and CBB will be able to feed off of that.

As said above, brilliant rating, to go from being just behind CBB9 in the overnights to technically beat CBB9 and CBB8 in the officials is, considering the much less riveting line up and almost non-existent pre-series advertising campaign, fantastic. CBB's going nowhere. Now let's just hope BB holds up or improves in the summer.
