Iggy Azalea has insisted she never meant to criticise Britney Spears when she complained about the lack of promotion for their joint single Pretty Girls.

She told her Twitter followers, “I’m not attacking anyone”, and added, “I think Britney is great”, blaming the media for putting “words in my mouth”.


The Fancy rapper sparked rage among Britney fans when she complained about the response to Pretty Girls – and seemed to imply that Britney had let the team down.

She tweeted: “It’s difficult to send a song up the charts without additional promo and tv performances etc. unfortunately I’m just featured.”

The 25-year-old continued: “i would have enjoyed performing it alot, i think it got off to a powerful start. but you need content to compete in 2015.”

Later she added: “my comment is factual, it applies to any song. I dont have to suck the womans a****** 24/7 to be her friend, do i? bye girls.”

Iggy later defended her comments, telling one Britney fan: “its really not something you should feel mad or aggressive about. i love the song and i think Britney is great. why be angry?”

She continued: “i really love the song, and actually never said anything negative, only that i think there was room to do more with it.”

Meanwhile, Britney put out a tweet to promote her Piece Of Me concerts which seemed to contain a dig at Iggy for her Twitter outburst – though she doesn’t mention the Australian rapper by name.

Fans have interpreted Britney’s comment, “So thankful I have shows for the rest of the year to look forward to”, as a brag about her own success in comparison to Iggy’s cancelled Great Escape tour.

#YouWantAPieceOfMe, a line from her song, is also – shall we say – situation-appropriate.

The duo collaborated on Pretty Girls, which was released as a music video on May 13 and peaked at only 29 in the Billboard Hot 100 charts.

'Britney Bill' for Tax Break on Shows Advances in New Jersey

A measure dubbed the "Britney bill" that would exempt stars who play at least four nights in Atlantic City from having to pay state income taxes on all shows in New Jersey that year is a step closer to becoming law.

The measure is the latest of many efforts to help the struggling seaside resort. It got its moniker because it encourages the sort of multinight engagements that Britney Spears, Celine Dion, Motley Crue and other artists have done in Las Vegas

It was approved Monday (Oct. 5) by a state Senate committee. But a liberal think tank derided it as a "silly" waste of money.

It's sponsored by Senate Republican Leader Tom Kean and Senate Democrat James Whelan, who view it as a way to attract extended stands for A-list stars.

"There is tremendous value in the ability to consistently draw world-class entertainment here, especially considering widely successful A-lister residencies in Las Vegas, where there's no state income tax," Kean said. "The more than 50,000 fans who paid to see A-list performer Maroon 5 in August gives a glimpse of how Atlantic City can transform into a premier entertainment destination, drawing tourists from the most densely populated Northeast Corridor, two of America's largest cities that are each less than two hours away, and from around the world via nearby international airports."

Naughty Boy may have bagged Beyoncé for his latest single 'Runnin' (Lose It All)', but he still has his eyes firmly set on working with Britney Spears one day.

The British producer started working on a song for Britney's 2013 album Britney Jean, but has previously explained that he pulled back his contribution when he realised he didn't have the time to do it properly.

"Do you know what, I wanted to do a Britney song," Naughty Boy - real name Shahid Khan - told Digital Spy at the MTV EMAs 2015. "She's amazing and I didn't want to do something with her and spoil the Britney beat."

The 33-year-old US star is currently recording her ninth studio album, so now that Naughty Boy has the time to work on a proper track for her, would he be up for it?

"Yeah definitely, I would love to work with her," he said. "The song just needs to be right, that's all."

In the meantime, the 30-year-old producer and songwriter will be concentrating on his own new album, which serves as the follow-up to his 2013 debut Hotel Cabana.

Britney Spears presented a $120,000 donation to the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation this weekend.

The good deed was revealed on Monday, when Spears posted a photo of herself holding a ceremonial check while surrounded by many of the kids who will benefit from the funds. The awarding of the money actually took place on Saturday, and was the result of fundraising efforts with Planet Hollywood, where Spears has her “Piece Of Me” residency. $1 of each ticket sold for the superstar’s concerts went to the fundraiser, leading to the $120,000 donation total.

“I’m so happy I’ve partnered with Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation, and really enjoy raising awareness for this amazing cause,” the singer wrote on Facebook. She continued, “Their mission is to improve the quality of life for critically ill children, and they have been doing beautiful things for so many families. I love the positive effect these guys are having on the Las Vegas community. It makes my second home a better place.”

Britney Spears is not “irate” that Jennifer Lopez will be sharing the same stage she’s been using for two years for her “Pieces Of Me” show at the Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, nor is she trying to prevent her from doing so, despite a made-up tabloid story. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk the report. We’re told it’s “completely stupid and wrong.”

According to Life & Style, Spears is “irate that she now has to share her stage with Jennifer Lopez.” The tabloid quotes a so-called “source” as saying, Spears is “doing everything she can to make sure J. Lo is out of town within weeks.” The same supposed “source” adds that Spears “requested to have larger props built for her show so she can take over the prop space J. Lo has, just to make her feel unwelcome.”

While Gossip Cop was investigating this, we thought this story sounded familiar, and then we remembered we busted Life & Style when it made the exact same fake claim one year ago, except the twist in November 2014 was that Lopez seemingly had a problem with Spears. Yes, the tabloid essentially regurgitated its year-old phony story that claimed Lopez “doesn’t want to share the same stage” as Spears, but switched around who had an issue with whom.
