It's my birthday in a couple of weeks. I'm thinking about buying the £400 bundle from GAME which includes the PS4 + Advanced Warfare, Watch Dogs, The Last of Us + a 12 month PS+ subscription. It seems to be the best deal I can find but it's still a lot of money. That being said I still don't know how far off a significant price reduction is and this time next year I'm going to be a poor university student so I think it's a case of buy one now or never buy one. :laugh:

Don't take my word as gospel, but the way it's selling I doubt they'll be an official price cut any time soon if that's what you're referring to.

If you're talking about a cheaper prices from one retailer to the other there's no answer to that. Everything you buy in life can one day be £50 at Tesco, then £30 at Amazon the next.

The deal you refer to seems pretty good. Just bear in mind whether they're download codes for the games and if you have a internet usage cap.

The Last of Us is a download code but the other two are discs. My internet should be fine for it. As for the price you're probably right, I think the £400 bundle is the best deal I'll get for a good while, if I buy one I'll probably get that one.

It generally seems to cost around the same from everywhere. Cheapest appears to be eBay at £35 for the year. The codes are emailed to you from most eBay sellers.

Depends on the headset really, if it's a wired/wireless headset which is plugged in to the console/charged via USB, then that should be fine

Speaking to VG247, Michael Ephraim, Australian PS4 boss, said that Sony does its best to react quickly to any developing problems, such as those encountered with the release of firmware 2.0.

Firmware 2.0 introduced Share Play and Youtube support to the PS4, but it also hobbled some consoles, forcing a reset after going in to Rest Mode.

Listen: we’re really, really apologetic,” he said, speaking in an interview published today.

“Dealing with network and digital – I’m not trying to spread or deflect anything, but dealing on such a robust network is a tricky experience. The good thing is we’ve launched 2.01, which has fixed the rest mode, and has fixed the YouTube app.

“It was very unfortunate. We hate that. The network was down during the 2.0 release. It’s very unfortunate. Those things are gonna happen over time. We’re not bulletproof on those things.

“I think the good thing is, we reacted quickly and the fix is out, about two or three days after. So we apologise. Like I said, dealing with global network loads and concurrent users for a platform that is ever expanding because of our sales being so strong is tricky at times, and we’re not infallible.”

The PSN should be much better than it is. Requiring payment for online play means there should be an improvement, but there isn't.

Money from PS Plus appears to be going towards helping failings in the other divisions within Sony or towards recuperating losses from last gen.

Can understand the analogue stick issue. Its been quite a widespread problem. Breaking the R2 button like was it 5 times one guy did... seemed a bit dodgy.

Mario does looks aesthetically good, sure, but it's not really graphically, and technically intensive, at the end of the day, its a cartoonish racer, which is easier to make look pretty.

Yes but when is soon? As per usual like most companies Sony gives zero communication to customers so there is no knowing when, and when I finally get some free time to myself, this happens. Lizard Squad stopped their attacks at approx 10PM our time yesterday, and Sony are still being incompetent, it's frustrating. Soon I'll be back at work with zero time to use my brand new doorstop, I'm guessing at that point the online will work again, to probably go down again the next day I get off.

Yes and their customer service is not working either, I phone them up and it just bleeps and disconnects, they are useless, what have I actually given my money too?

every time i've installed it, it's said there's a new update, and every time I went to that and clicked download, it would say "downloading update file" then quit and restart on loop about a hundred times without doing anything

so, assuming it was PSN being down, I waited until today to do it now that it's all connected and fine and dandy, but now when it's all installed, update and all, it just says "please delete application and remove disc - data is corrupted" or some BS

I had similar BS with the Youtube app. Every time I was unable to install it and the update. Then a firmware update messed some things up for me and rebuilding the database fixed both problems. Might be worth trying that. You don't lose any saves, btw.

Obvious question maybe, but have you tried deleting the game from the HDD then reinstalled?

The number you set it at is basically the maximum size each 'packet' can be when communicating with PSN from your end, it seems like packets over a certain size were causing people to lose connection, so someone somehow managed to find out the maximum 'safe' size and posted it online, witchcraft if you ask me. Doubt you'll need to change it but when PSN is back to normal you may aswell, the bigger each individual packet can be the faster PSN will run for you.
