Goalkeepers in this new PES are awful, I'm 4 games in and my keeper has made 1 save so far, most of the rest have gone in. 11 goals that is from around 17 shots.

This is no way like the demo where they couldn't hit a cows backside with a banjo, I'm really confused :conf:

Probably put that down to Rockstar putting in checkpoints so you don't have to start a mission over again if the tiniest thing goes wrong, which thinking about it is a bit of a cop out/takes the achievement out of it

I do hate how people are using these games to bitch about the service now, like every month, with the top rated comment being "cant wait for my sub to expire". Well, you have to remember that YouTube videos are small (in size) compared to a big HD TV so they will always look smoother and "more HD". Less aliasing, hides flaws in the textures, etc.

For example I play PS4 both on my 42" TV and on my 24" computer monitor - the graphics (in the same game) always look better on the smaller screen, if viewed from the same distance.

Yeah, pretty much all of them bar three are all currently available to download on PS3 already as well.

I hope we get some new classic options going forward and they don't just regurgitate the (largely) weak roster of PS2 classics from the PS3 library.

I don't understand the hype behind Bloodborne tbh, it's not a difficult game at all, it's just cheap which has dampened the whole experience for me. There's too many instances of enemies appearing out of nowhere to take shots at you from beyond the camera's view and enemies appearing out of corners to attack you with an attack that you cannot react to unless you know it's coming. It's a poorly designed form of artificial difficulty.

If you go into the playstation store and search for playstation plus you can purchase the one month membership. If you plan on subbing long term it's probably best to go for the 3 or 12 month deal though because the one month package is quite expensive in comparison.

New system update today, with a bunch of new UI updates, including a 360 like Quick Menu during gameplay. Had a little play around, the quick menu is really... quick!

The Share button no longer uses up the whole screen, and you can access things like Spotify from the Quick Menu, not to mention you can change your online status and see who else is online.

Sony may be laying the groundwork to allow PSN users to change their account names.

For the longest time, one of the most requested features by PlayStation users has been the ability to change their PSN account names. Years later, Sony isn’t anywhere close to making this dream a reality, but that could be about to change.

The patch notes for a recent update to Unreal Engine 4 make mention of PlayStation 4 SDK version 4.008.061, the updated software development kit the engine now supports.

As spotted by NeoGAF user Kirbasin, the page then goes on to say that Sony has updated its developer recommendations to allow users to be identified by their account ID, as opposed to their Online ID.

Other functions in the update also make reference to switching from the previous method of returning the online ID, to the new system that uses the account ID.

This could very mean Sony is planning to implement a name change feature of some sort, though it’s possible the update is referring to something else.

Reading through the notes, it seems Sony’s assigning IDs to all accounts which can’t be changed, and it’s what games and the network will use to identify players. Account names, on the other hand, are free of this and can be changed, at least that’s how we’re reading it.

I found GTA online really temperamental on PS4... Took forever to load or wouldn't load at all. I pretty much just gave up on it to be honest :umm2:.

I just expect it these days to be honest, even on day one there's usually at least 5gb of patching. Plus I buy a fair number of my PS4 games, and all of my PC games digitally anyway so I just consider the "waiting for download" part of the anticipation [emoji23]. It's replaced that feeling I used to get sat on the bus home from town clutching a game box when I was like 13, haha.

Tbh I don't think anyone could argue that an extra £10 a year is going to break the bank, surely. Though I'd hope it means upgrades to the service and extras, rather than just paying more for the same.

I'd imagine the monthly sub will go up by £1 a month (so £12 for the year).

Also if you shop around you can usually get one of those dodgy 12 month keys for £30 on 3rd party sites. Just make sure to use PayPal so you can reverse it if it's a BS code. They do usually work though. My OEM "Windows 10" key was like £4 :joker:.

it won't break the bank but it's an extra £10 that we shouldn't have to pay, gaming is already expensive. i can almost guarantee this price increase will not lead to the implementation of the features that we've been wanting for so many years. just another way to get a bit of extra cash out of us.

One of the best PS+ months in ages, I've already got Bloodborne but will definitely pick up R&C.

They're dropping PS+ games for the Vita and PS3 next year so that might hopefully mean they'll have more money to make bring more AAA games to PS+.

See, this is what I don't get. As I said in another thread, I'm generally a PC gamer and keep it up to date so everything is best on PC :hee: so any multiplatform game, I tend to get for PC... and yet, I still have PS4, because of the bit in bold. I don't and never will own an Xbone, because Xbone "exclusives" tend to actually be Xbone/Windows exclusives.

That's ALL they need to worry about to maintain brand loyalty! Keep producing top quality first party exclusives that are only available on Playstations, and I will continue to buy Playstations. For multiplatform multiplayer stuff, there's literally no good reason for them to keep this daft "no crossplay" rule... if anything it's just going to put people off rather than encourange brand loyalty :shrug:.

I also don't really understand why they seemingly have no issue with cross-platform multiplayer with PC... it invalidates all of their security arguments, and makes it really obvious that it's just a "console wars" thing.

Sony just need to pull their head out of their asses, they're gonna start turning people away. Even stuff like Fallout 4's mods being so limited on PS4 compared to Xbone, it just doesn't make sense, they keep making these pointless decisions. Xbox One's Gamepass blows Sony's PS Now out of the water, I was hoping they'd announce they were doing something similar at E3, but nope, I remember when Sony used to update us on new things coming to their console, now they don't. I'm hoping Xbox pulls ahead next gen, because Sony do so much better when behind.
