View Full Version : What changes would you like to see for the summer?

Though from what PEJ said about how far ahead series are planned, it's probably a bit late now, if the producers are reading, what would you suggest they change about the show for the summer? Serious, sensible suggestions only if you can.
Pointless suggesting full on live feed, it's not going to happen, not straight away, Channel 5 don't want it, the producers apparently discuss it with them every series, they're not backing down.

A wide spread of different housemates please. A mix of a few freaks and probably mostly "normal" people. Make Big Brother into more of a "gameshow". In which "nicey nice" people will be out of their comfort zone to make some controversial decisions.
No models. No one from agencies please. I don't get why they have to have these types of people? Plenty of "attractive" people who are on the dole, at Uni, have a normal job or have been travelling.

What Beastie said, and I'd love the editing to be toned down

I'd like to see the hm's being pushed for once. I need the contrast of a harsh bb. Everything is just on a plate for them, these days. This was advertised as BB getting tough again, but it turned into a basement for 2 nights.
They need to step this up and stretch people to their limits, like the human experiment it should be rather than the captive TOWIE it's turned into.
Agree with JHC's post, also of course like many would like to see live feed back (which sadly isn't going to happen :bored:) on TV rather than on online though. Also when BB do dish out punishments to be more fair with the dishing out rather than letting some housemates get away with so much. Not to hide stuff from us as in poogate and Xfactorgate, because if an ex housemate blurts something out we should really know about, the fallout only makes it ten times worse for BB, because some will shout Ofcom then.

Big Brother back to its roots.
Fill the house with NORMAL people, not the most outrageous characters/wannabes/twats they can find...
Stop instigating situations of conflict, let things play out naturally, a bunch of strangers living together will generally come to blows at some point anyway...
No bias or fixing it for certain housemates to stay/win...
NO contact with the outside world & that includes visitors to the house...
Less silly tasks...
24hr LIVE FEED...
Under 18's banned from this forum...

BB10 editing and Marcus narration.
Crazy channel 4 like housemates. E.g. BB6 and BB7 meets BB9 and BB10
A lot of what flamingGalah said. Not banning under 18s though aha

- Toned down editing, no weird filters/graphics on the screen during tasks, no music, just back to how it used to be
- Similarly, no 'VOTING NOW CLOSED' massive banner on live evictions. So, so, so tacky.
- Better graphics. Seriously they used to be so slick but now they look like they've been made on Paint by a four year old.
- Drop the housemates faces in the titles. It's not inventive like the titles used to be
- Please change the eviction set. Ideally I'd get an indoor separate set but if not I don't care, just drop they eye please
- For the love of God, put the Diary Room in a different place
- Close off the stairs from the house like they used to be (BB6, 7 etc)
- Massive layout change. I want the disjointed styles of BB6 and BB7 back, not this long, narrow layout with rooms coming off of it (since BB8)
- At least three people up every eviction
- No contact with the outside world. Nobody leaves, nobody comes in.
- Stop Big Brother talking so informally with housemates and outside of the Diary Room
- Nominations talk allowed. This worked for the better in BB13 and made things much more interesting
- Hold at least two (excluding the vote to win) evictions where the whole house is up regardless in a bid to cull the dull. Possibly make them doubles.
- More odd hours here and there on TV of live feed and a 24/7 paid or not paid feed online. I don't care, I want it.

It worked that time because the house was already split. If they started it from the beginning, you'd get a big character like Jay coming in and dominating the whole show, and eliminating everyone that didn't do what he wanted.
A final 3 of Jay, Louise, and Aden would not have been a great show.

But Jay had that sorted. He was always trying to incorporate people into his gang, and if you knew you were on the chopping block, you'd replace one of the outgoing people.
After a couple of years, people may realise they needed alliances, but I'd have no interest in an American BB over here. BB isn't a team sport. You should never win the game because you join the right gang on the first night.

But ultimately if you had two occasions where the whole house were up and four people in total left then that's more than enough opportunity for the public to get rid of who they want, surely? Of course under normal noms it may be the same people up each time and so a gang like Jay's would get their way but there'd still be no escaping the whole house being up, so at some point their reign would at least be threatened.
Alternatively they should chop and change when the housemates can talk about noms. I had no problem with them stopping it last year (well, I did), but I'd have had less of a problem had they brought it back a few weeks later. That'd perhaps work better, because it's great to watch, and then they could stop it for a couple of weeks to try and stop block voting, and then restart it again to see new plotting develop.

In terms of locality, they seem to be looking more widespread than usual, they've been tweeting local papers and radio from everywhere from Cardiff to Cornwall.
Going to clean and reopen this because it actually started off as a sensible thread with some good suggestions until the stupid bickering started again
Right now stay on topic :nono:

More housemates, more evictions, less contact with the outside, (as soon as they knew Rylan was popular everybody sort of gave up on winning, and similarly people with big egos shouldn't know how hated they are until they're out the house, more cruel better TV)

I think a couple of weeks throughout the duration of the show might work. If that happened though, I'd like them to say weeks 3 and 10 on the first show, so we'd have some feeling they weren't just ****ing around with things to get results they wanted.
That crypt bollocks came out of nowhere to protect Jay and Anton, and these twists need to be announced before nominations. The twists should be for the hm's, not for us. I don't vote anymore, but I don't want my credulity stretched.

Yes! They should also make it less like a holiday camp (get rid of the hot tub/pool etc...) And have the garden turned into a giant veggie patch where they have to grow/pick their own food...

Harry or Aaron would have to make the end - even if Jay was somehow smart enough to put them against each other in a head-to-head, one would survive and easily get the public on their side.
If anything, the US style of play means that people get rid of threats earlier, so people would actually try getting rid of Jay a lot more - there's a reason why so many alpha males go in the first few weeks of BBUS.

i like that during the celeb BB but it would give people a lot less time to get opinions and get to know housemates during the regular big brother if they are being evicted every couple of days

If people like the US version, then there are many ways to watch it. I've started a couple of seasons and never got very far. I understand that we all like different things, but I can only talk about what I like.

50 million people in England, I couldn't care if I only had a few days to get to know one of them through a TV show, if they were the least popular that week they deserve to be evicted then and there! Put in like 20/30 housemates and get rid of the majority before the final! Evictions are the best bit!

Less editing and music, remove the nametags. Give them a vegetable garden or something.
Make the launch night twist meaningful, for example, have the first 7 housemates enter on launch, then show a snippet of HM no.1's VT where they say they "Hate dumb blondes", then have the next housemate in be a dumb blonde. And continue from there until you have 14 housemates paired up.

-Completely redesigned house layout (they've had the same layout for 6 series now, it's time for a change)
-New opening theme and indents, no more clouds and facial expressions
-A good mix of freaks and normal people
-A diverse range of ethnicities and nationalities (at least two black girls please!)
-At least 3 people over 30
-15 housemates on launch night, 3 new housemates to enter around Week 4-5
-Make it 11-12 weeks long
NO interference from the producers!!!!!

No more housemates hiding out and hearing/seeing everything (only worked with Speidi)
No more family votes, photos from home, letters from home. No contact with outside world
Don't send anyone home on day one. No eviction vote day one.
Kick people out who crap in freezers.
Kick people out who personally threat other housemates (to face or behind back)
