I try to look beyond someone's appearance. What matters to me is if they're a good hearted person. I want nothing to do with cruel or bullish people.

But then you're closed minded and already biased.

If you make an instant decision that you dislike someone then you'll find fault with anything that might be good about them and unfairly make yourself dislike them.

Sadly everyone makes judgements on people depending on how they look, but personality comes through in the end I like to believe.

depends what youre judging it on though? how they look, how they speak, what they say? how they say it? ,aybe its body language or certain habits or the types of things they ask etc?

I find that the people who seem to use all the right cliches for everything often in the first 5 minutes, end up not folowing through in practice...theyre just not real....its a strange phenomenon , all theory and no practice...maybe its politicians polluting our minds. the types that tell people to express themselves, yet when people do , they squirm and either dont listen or leave the room.

...I think that saying is true though...people are judged by appearances all the time..hairstyles/clothes/piercings/tattoos etc..so what does that say about the character of the person..nothing really, but their character will be inevitably judged on these things by some people and perhaps those people will never make any effort to get to know them because of it...so their 'judgement' will always stand and to them be 'proved right'....so the saying is true because not everyone opens the book...

I find always being right enables me to make deadly accurate initial assessments of people. Livia, you have been warned.

Of course we judge people, but it's a key indicator of intelligence in people, to be able to change their minds and accept they may be wrong. If you believe the same thing on Wednesday as you did on Monday, regardless of what happens on Tuesday, then you're an idiot.

On here I always guess what people look like because of the way they speak and their opinions but when I go on that 'meet the members' thread, I'm nearly always wrong.

I have judged people and been totally wrong about them,I like to think I now get to know someone before judging them,I don't judge on looks though as to me that is so shallow.

..I think Kazanne said she didn't judge on looks Alex...she's judged on character, like an initial instinct sort of thing before and been wrong so tries not to do that now and takes time to get to know them first...
