To be fair, she has definately earned it. From Internet spin-off, to BBLB co-host, to host of her own spin off, to the main show. She's definately the right one for the job!
Brian was just god damn awful. So relieved

Well that's the only opinion that matters, Davina will always be the queen of Big Brother.

Emma is kind of damned either way. People seem to want her to be like Davina, yet also believe she can't be as good as Davina. Hopefully she'll develop her own style.

I think the Davina comparisons is what cost her the job in the first place - and C5 did her a favour by putting Brian in first as she'll mainly be compared to him now rather than Davina, and I can't see her being anything other than favourable compared to the "amazing"ly awful Brian Dowling.

I like Emma and glad she got the job but if it's true that she hasn't even contacted Brian then it's a bit disrespectful.
Not saying she needed to get his permission, a job is a job but it would be courteous to call him, let him know you've been offered his job and show no hard feelings etc.
Like Dermot did when he took Kate Thornton's job.
But maybe they don't get on off camera, who knows.

I dont get why people are giving Emma a hard time for not contacting Brian straight away, hes not the centre of her life ya'know.

Not until after everything was done, dusted and already publicly announced. It just seems like the respectful thing to do.

:conf: How does making a quick polite phone call to the person whose job you're being offered make him the "centre of her life"? Where I come from it's called manners and respect.

She was always going to get round to it, has got on my nerves reading all these posts about her being rude not phoning Brian. Give her a bloody chance shes probably all excited and knows the call could be a little awkward.

I meant calling before she accepted and it went public.
Brian knew he'd lost the job weeks ago, they've negotiated with Emma in the meantime. So her waiting until she'd signed on and it's been publicly announced before calling is a little iffy IMO. Plenty of time to make a call.

And what exactly would she say in that situation? "Hi Brian, just ringing to say I've taken your job and hope all is well, talk to you soon x"
Emma is allowed to make her own decisions.

THAT says more about qualifying as a presenter and working your way up - than luckily winning the show twice. Can someone pls tell Narinder this?

If you're implying Josie Gibson had the potential to win over Nikki Grahme then omg.

She clearly would have.
I didn't like her at all, but Josie would have won had she stayed, she had momentum and the John James vote as well, she was clearly very popular.

I don't see how ? screeching her way through every programme ! her voice drives me insane - she has no control at all - starts with quite a nice voice which decends into shrill - so i'm not at all happy she's got the job !
She needs to see that guy that almost punches yer stomach - it amazingly lowers the voice and takes that horrid schrill screech out - and boy does Emma have way too much of that !

Emma is allowed to make her own decisions.
Where did I say that?
No one said anything about her needing Brian's approval or to help her make the decision.
It's called being polite and telling him yourself than having him find out publicly.
You can be sarcastic about it and over exaggerate what she could say all you want.

That was only because of the recent BB11, had Josie of entered like everyone else [years after her series] she wouldn't of had a chance.
