Jeff Ford Allmost Admited That The Risks he took with big brother never paid off, By Turning Big Brother From A Socail Experiment To An Entertainment programme was wrong and that the show will just about return abit of a profit or even just break even for channel 5 so unless ben frow can make big changes to big brother return it too its glory days or up raitings its unlikey are big bruv will be renewd by channel 5.

It's going to he renewed by 5, it's one of their top rated programs and CBB11 had an average of 2.8 million. BB/CBB is staying put for a while

And I can't see this being true, it was only last year that 5 released a statement claiming how much revenue BB had brought in for them

revenue will come back from phone votes just like C4 before they axed all premium rate services it hit C4 hard.

it would tie in with the extra coverage coming back (confusion at the moment how much but its going to be on 5*) they clearly need to get peoples interest going hoping that will filter into more people voting?

Maybe an App for people also to vote easier via mobile.

Vote to Evict coming back? With Emma as the new host a series of other changes will fit with the shakeup.

The ratings are sound and well in line for the network its on. Endelmol would do well to lower the right's by a few million more. Make bb look more attractive to potential buyers.

Still if frow can make the right changes, then it will improve in ratings furthermore resulting in a bigger profit.

Id suggest one version of each per year
Live feed
Wider age ranges
Live tasks every wed night
No nomination talk allowed
Extendend bb to a two storey building...

Do you have a link, OP? I googled the thread title and it only comes back to show this thread link, so googled your post content and it only shows one link to Ford of no relevance to the post.

Is this the Video ?

Him talking about a lot of money for the show.why doesn't endemol cut the costs allow a channel to host the show and then take control of other aspects (like the feed,Competitions, premium Apps) and sell them off to various companies.

A TV Channel gets the rights to air the shows and evictions special events but the added extras are then sold at a premium price its working well in other countries and no reason it cant work again here just a bit of thought it needs.

Unhappy just made a very valid point on Twitter why on earth did they invest in HD Cameras when it wasn't even clear the risk of buying the show was going to work.
HD is very nice but that must have set them back a fortune and with the new custom build editing suite onsite.

Odd how Ben Frow has come from TV3 to C5 and Jeff Ford has left C5 and gone to TV3...?

And also notice in the video posted by Oathbreaker earlier that when Jeff Ford - an ex commissioning editor for C5 describes his changes for Big Brother (about 28:23) that he describes Channel 5 as 'having a bit of fun and not taking things too seriously' compared to a description of Channel 4 by an ex commissioning editor for C4 (02:37) as 'young, different and in a way being a bit troubleseeking', both describing what their channel is/was about at the time of Big Brother. This cant be a coincidence.

Stop blowing the budget on celebrity series then...

Quite right. Some of the fees mentioned are ridiculous. No wonder the show struggles to pay its way

RIDICULOUS STATEMENT

Channel 5 have had the best calibre of celebs the program has ever had.

They have had the most amazing celebrity casts!

They've had an interesting bunch of housemates.

But high calibre celebs? Do me a favour.

The "high calibre" celebs wouldn't touch this show with a bargepole.

Are you putting the likes of Jedward, Kerry Katona, Tara Reid and that model Bobby above people like Vinnie Jones, Stephanie Beecham, Jermaine Jackson and Mark Owen? Wow.

What does this have to do with my post? I'm not disputing the quality of celebs they've been able to get on the show.

They're wasting money having two series a year (which the majority of fans don't even want) then complaining about not making any profit.

Totally agree with this.
