I'm kinda hoping that they release the eye either tomorrow or over the weekend, it's getting beyond a joke now.

Why no ads yet? We need to see the eye. :bawling:

With Britain's Got Talent ending a week later than usual this year (the finale's set to air on the 8th of June), Big Brother has probably been pushed back a week - and if that's the case the eye logo release will be later too. We're more likely to see it next week.

Same! They should start to show the BB adverts to get more watching! Also to keep reminding people when the show is going to start!

Would be great if they had lots of BB news to get BB fans excited! :D

I think they're waiting for BGT to be over and that's probably very wise.

It isn't 2008 - no one cares enough about either show anymore to have a massive ratings war. They don't even share the same audience either.

I know, but BGT still gets a massive audience. Hopefully BB will do well this year.

I'd say BGT and BB have a massive overlap. Remove any diehard BB fans and diehard BGT fans (?!) and they're basically the same audience.

Because 9 to 11 million people is nothing, compared to the 3 million tops Big Brother gets. Anyway, it isn't just a case of ratings, it's a case of getting media and press coverage -- a magazine would sell more copies if it had BGT STAR REVEALS HOSTAGE DRAMA rather than OMG SEXIEST BRUV EVA STARTS 2NITE!!!1111!!!!.

Agree entirely.

I think we've got to remember too that Big Brother isn't as widely covered as it once was, nor does it fall into these ratings wars. This only happens with BBC One and ITV1 now. Channel 5 is known as a nothing channel.

This is Big Brother in 2013 we're talking about, not Big Brother in 2006. A hell of a lot has changed since then. I highly doubt BB being on at the same time as BGT would have that much of an effect on ratings in all honesty.

Channel 5 is known as a nothing channel.

And that's exactly why it needs to avoid BGT like the plague. Let's not forget the BGT live finals air throughout a week with ten million viewers a night - if Big Brother launches around that time then it's just going to slip under the radar. If that happens the ratings are highly likely to go down, and the lower the ratings the more likely it'll be to get the axe next year.

If Channel 5 wants the best possible launch it needs to wait until the week after BGT so it has a better chance at getting more press coverage and higher ratings.

Sorry Patrick, but BGT would steam roll BB.
