It's good to see EastEnders dominance over the soap awards has ending, and Hollyoaks is in second place too!

The only deserving ones are Emmerdale live episode and Claire Cooper for best actress.
Natalie Gumede, Alan Halsall and that ridiculous storyline are the most overrated.
As much as I was not much of a fan of Brendan Brady, you'd be a fool to say he didn't deserve Best Actor, or at least the Villain award.

I disagree about Natalie Gumede, think she is a brilliant Actress and was great in the abuse storyline. I like Alan Halsall, but is he the best Actor in soap? IMO he isn't, but the public obviously think he is and I think Natalie carried the majority of that storyline.
Very pleased that Hollyoaks and Claire Cooper got recognition.
I agree with most of the winners apart from Best Exit and Comedy Performance but respect the voters opinions.

I don't watch soaps because they're all full of unrealistic storylines, terrible actors and angry men being angry at angry men but I thought Eastenders was the best? When did that change?
Yes corrie Haha not a good year for eastenders

I'm glad also. It has been abysmal recently and looks like these awards prove it. It annoys me how the god awful Shane Ritchie always seems to get a nod.

EastEnders needs a kick up the backside and hopefully this will be it, they need to buck their ideas up!
Corrie and Hollyoaks deserved the majority of the awards.

Tbh, I doubt the loss of a soap award will get Eastenders to wake up.
They're still in dream land with their Bafta.

The BAFTA is only decided on a single soap episode, different format to the BSA's and all of the nominees are reviewed by a panel;). Corrie should have won that though tbh!
Stuart Blackburn was moaning in the press that Corrie didn't win the BAFTA and that EastEnders won it instead, petty since they have just won 8 awards at the BSA's and he was not in charge of Corrie then, plus their BSA success was due to Phil Collinson, who he replaced anyway;).
The Corrie cast can be a bit petty when they want to! Some of the faces from the big 3 soaps when HO won an award were like thunder too:D:joker:.

I know. I'm just saying a Bafta is more prestigious than a viewer voted Soap Award which includes such shallow rubbish as Sexiest Male/Female.
Whilst Eastenders have (undeservedly) won a Bafta, they won't take the Soap Award snub as cause to act.
Having said that, according to DS, a couple of the Eastenders writing staff have told viewers to send their complaints directly to the writer's and producer's offices so who knows what's going on.
