Dowling ‘gracious’ over Big Brother axe, says Willis

Emma Willis has claimed Brian Dowling wasn’t ‘pissed off’ with her after finding out she’d be taking over as Big Brother’s main presenter.

Dowling was ditched by Channel 5 bosses in April after two years as the face of the show, with Bit On The Side host and fan favourite Emma getting promoted to the top job.

The two-time Big Brother winner is yet to comment on his exit, but Emma has told The Mirror that he wasn’t angry when she got in touch.

“He could have been p****d off with me. He wasn’t though, he was a true gentleman and it’s been a relief how gracious he’s been,” she explained. “He made that conversation so easy. He understands, and said if someone else had to do it, he’s glad it was me.

“If the shoe was on the other foot, I wouldn’t want anyone else but him either. We’ve been in it together from the beginning.”

The Sun previously reported that Brian was left ‘fuming’ by the move, with the broadcaster said to have spent £100,000 buying him out of his contract.

Meanwhile, his close friend Narinder Kaur hit out at Emma, accusing her of a lack of integrity.

Big Brother returns for its fourteenth normal series next month.

Gutted to the sum of 100k.

Seriously though, it must hurt. Being sacked from the show that made you famous in the the first place is a big blot on a cv in anyone's book. Jungle this year? :P
