Anyone else think it feels like it did when five first announced they were making the show?

Its all most like brians era of presenting never existed.

The excitement, the unknown.

It's a pity we can't wipe Brian's presenting of BB from our minds completely. I suppose to be fair to him, he was offered the Job and rightly accepted it, so BB producers are to blame for the abysmal choice of presenter.

It's a shame we can't whipe the series of the last two years from our minds in general, or at least the countless celebrity series.

Channel 5 should have waited and brought BB back now like they are doing at the moment with the secrets and lies, Emma presenting etc. Could have maintained far more decent ratings the last two years have.

Can you imagine if they had waited 2 years? We would have kicked off big time but the wait, it woudl have been well worth it

I agree. I feel that a lot of people are trying to pretend Brian didn't exist and that this is the first series of BB since it ended on Ch4.

I haver seen a few slow people on Facebook asking "OMG, it's back, but will miss Davina". Surely they can't not have known its been on for 2 years on Ch5 :p

waiting would have been no good as channel 4 had already rode it into the ground but then saying that people dont seem to grasp the fact that the channel changed but its still the same production team, even tho some producers got changed its been the same old production staff. year in year out.

It does feel like the start and a fresh one at that. If they had of taken a break for two years and came back with this social experiment back to basics version of the show it would have been perfect. I just hope this does truly go back to basics and ditch all the bullcrap and tackiness. :)

To be fair though the majority of the celeb series have been pretty good minus the Jedward and (for me) the Rylan series.

Except the people that changed were the ones that mattered; the decision makers.

Whether they had the same "little people" or not working on the show round the clock made no difference as all of the people calling the shots were new and wanted it made into BB:Towie.

I kind of agree, and I think if this is what C5 had come back with in the first place, instead of this tacky CBB-obsessed campfest we've had for the last two years (even if BB13 was amazing), I'd be creaming myself with excitement even more than I already am. So it's a shame :(

Completely agree - and I've said that all along. As one of the shows biggest fans for it's C4 run (watching it all except BB10) it was just too soon with C5, and they did nothing at all to address any of the issues the show had on C4. It was axed with good reason - but they acted as if there was nothing wrong with the format, and just ended up making it worse with an incapable presenter and somehow making Marcus Bentley even worse.

Now feels about the right time to try the show once again - hopefully with Emma Willis at the helm I'll at least be able to get through the launch show and early signs of much needed changes being made are promising - althoguh I'll still find the highlights a struggle thanks to Marcus Bentley. Having watched and enjoyed BBUSA, most of BB Aus and BB Canada over the last year though I'm ready to give BBUK a try again.

I'm not really sure really the 4 year hiatus of BBAU did the show any good... Not to say that it was all bad but they are still marketing the show to a demographic that is much too young for it... Which is now nothing more than a completely sanitized, diluted, and dumbed down version of what Channel 5 has been dishing out... TBH I think Channel 5 have learned much more over the last 2 years than anyone would have during a two year hiatus...
