If you're talking about the showreel, Hello Charlie made that when the CBB8 titles had basically just been revealed and it's about showing a new era in Big Brother. It's nothing best/worst.

I'm sorry - but if you honestly think that Hello Charlie, a company that big - decided to base their whole business show reel, to show the 'new era' of Big Brother, then you're slightly deluded.

And if you think a company who are behind the BB12/13/14 logos would be so biased to like their OLD work then you're slightly deluded. Nowhere did I say the entire show reel was dedicated to Big Brother's new era. The Big Brother section goes in chronological order to Celebrity Big Brother 8's eye at the end of the BB section before moving on.

Hello Charlie are the ones who are responsible for the titles and the clouds etc they have a say in it.

No they don't - at all.

The creative team at Channel 5/Endemol decide what they want in the titles - give them to Hello Charlie, and they do the work. I'm not saying the company doesn't LIKE their work now - but it's clear they're obviously much more proud of their earlier stuff for Big Brother, when they had the freedom to go crazy on the titles because of the variety that Eatock's eye designs always had.

Do you seriously think Hello Charlie, in 2011 just decided [after all their excellent work the previous years] that it would be a wonderful idea to add fluffy clouds to the eye?

They have to take what they're given. They were given a sh*te logo to base their titles on (I mean just look at the BB12 Eye) and there wasn't an awful lot they could go on.

Plus, I think it was Endemol's move actually - as oppose to Channel 5, to have the housemates faces show up in the titles, considering it happens in the majority of other countries apart from a few. It wouldn't surprise me that Endemol was behind that change, and Hello Charlie were hardly going to tell Endemol (a company who has paid them a considerable amount of money since BB6) - to go and ****** themselves, and refuse their pitched ideas/instructions.

Hello Charlie are behind the new eyes and have teamed up with the creative team at Channel 5 and it says so in the press release for the reveal of the CBB8/BB12 eye:

It was created by Channel 5’s in-house creative team and branding specialists Hello Charlie.

And again for Big Brother 13 - the eye release:

It was created by Channel 5’s in-house creative team and branding specialists Hello Charlie.

They basically work with Channel 5's creative team and design what they think is good enough for television. They decide what happens with the titles too I mean it even says so in the eye embargo from 2011.

They're in order, there's only one shot of their C5 stuff because only CBB8's stuff was done at that point.

Personally I'm not, it's just some people are stuck in the Channel 4 era of Big Brother and can't seem to accept that Channel 5 are sticking with the clouds and now thinks companies that decided on the clouds with Channel 5 in the first place are being biased.

I think the eye and titles are the the least of our worries for this series.

As long as the series is good, branding shouldn't matter that much

In the real world, there are ways of disagreeing with people and having a difference of opinion without telling them to go "******" themselves.

If Hello Charlie disagreed with anyone's ideas, they would say so, it's part of the whole creative process. Hello Charlie are hired to work with the channel 5 team and are paid to give their ideas/opinions.

Which makes it highly doubtful Hello Charlie would be embarrassed or ashamed of any designs from the channel 5 era. They are partly responsible for it whether you like it or not.

Well technically, branding does matter.

Yes, of course it matters, but its not like the whole series will be rubbish if the titles are awful.

Exactly... When contracts are awarded they are usually awarded based on the companies expertise in a particular area...

C5 more than likely presents Hello Charlie with a list of ideas and the designers will let them know what will work and what won't... I may be wrong but Hello Charlie are paid to bring their design expertise to any project they are working on... It would be silly to suggest they would be unhappy with the work they are producing...

It would also be fair to say that with a resume like HC has, if they felt C5 were too difficult to work with or were unhappy with the relationship they could easily walk away and find work elsewhere... Regardless of how much they are being paid...

It won't necessarily make or break series however, it can be an indication of how much effort was put in to the project... Think of it like submitting a well written and insightful essay on crumpled paper... Do you really think anyone is going to take it seriously or take the time to give it their full attention?

Well I do and clearly a lot of other fans do. I don't really care if it's a bad eye or bad titles but when they recycle it then it does matter. It just feels like one big long series on 5.

The graphics, house designs, diary room chair, editing, exterior etc have all been an integral part of the show for years and have been fantastic until the show moved to 5 so yes when it's suddenly lacking in quality it does make people enjoy the series less. I don't know it just makes it more difficult to appreciate things. It's what makes Big Brother unique to any other show, but each series and the franchise on a whole seems to be losing it's identity.
