You've also got to remember that Emma was heavily pregnant, even from the start of the series really. Although this couldn't have been the official reason for them not giving her the job, I'm sure bosses didn't like the prospect of the relaunched Big Brother not having a live host for a few weeks should anything have gone wrong.
