Would you like to see Save & Replace brought back or something similar?

I think I prefer just the normal nominations process if i'm honest and no messing around with results although I think it would be better if hm's had to nominate 3 people instead of just 2.

Opinions?

Nah, mainly because it was a lot of physical stuff and only the physical knob heads will survive.

Plus it ruined poor Keeley's chances :(

No. I prefer it when it's jut normal nominations, although I like the idea of nominating three housemates.

Thought about this and came down on the no side.

It wasn't too bad but I prefer like you Josy, the normal nominations process.
I agree it could be 3 nominations rather than 2.

I actually also wouldn't mind where they vote to save 2 or 3 housemates rather than to nominate them for eviction then the ones with the least saved votes go up, hopefully that may ensure more than 2 are up each week.

Just as happy to see it all left alone though.

I like the idea of nominating three.

Or maybe introducing a new system where the housemate nominates someone for eviction and someone to save. A kind of + and - points system, then whoever has the most points is up for eviction.

I'd like to see them nominate three housemates and then obviously the three with the most noms goes up for eviction. Would be interesting to see at least three up to eviction each week. But then again, some of the housemates don't half take an age to nominate, BB would give up half way through.

I thought the Save & Replace process was just a pain in the ass when it was done the other year. If it was tweaked slightly or some of the same effect done differently, then maybe, but the format of the process as it was, was just painful.

I do want it back, but I'd prefer it if say 3 or 4 housemates that weren't nominated could do the challenge too and keep the noms the same if they want.

What's that?

It's part of the US format. Once the Head of Household has nominated two people, six people (two nominees, the HoH and three people chosen at random) take part in a competition. The winner has the opportunity to save one of the nominees, in which case the HoH must name a replacement nominee. Or they can keep the noms the same, their choice...though obviously an element of the game is trying to influence the winners decision so that it benefits them or people they're close to.

So in the UK you could have a Power of Veto competition and if it was used the winner of it is the one to name a replacement (which I guess is S&R anyway LOL), though everyone should take part, not just the nominees.

That makes it too gameshow-y and complicated tho :(

Interesting. I've never watched the US version so I've never really looked at their nominations process, but it's interesting and different. It could bring a different dynamic to our noms process.

not really, I didn't like it during bb11.

Tbh I'd also like the HoH format added to our show too, although keeping some elements of the UK format as someone else suggested a few weeks back.

HoH competition, the winner nominates two people.
The rest of the house then nominates as usual, the person with the most noms joins the other two.
Then a Veto competition as I explained where everyone takes part
Once the three nominees are then confirmed, the public votes to save one
The rest of the housemates (other than the HoH and two remaining nominees) then vote to evict one

Continue until there's three left, winner of the last HoH chooses who comes to the final 2 (as in the US, or the public could vote idc) and then a jury of the last six evicted housemates (+ the public being the 7th vote) choose who wins out of the final two.

I loved this in BB11, one of the few good things about the series. Im all up for the HMs having more of a say keeping their position in the house, rather than us just voting em all out. Its a game show after all.

Fantastic idea for a revamped format, unfortunately wont happen :(

Trust me, the gameshow element is really interesting to watch. I like you was apprehensive for years and always slated the US format but after giving BBCAN a go I'm converted and regret not ever trying it and judging it unfairly. You should give it a try!

I do like the UK format (I've watched it for 8 years), but I do think it needs updating and I'd really love them to trial a more game orientated format for one series, I think it'd interesting.

I hate the idea of our version of the HoH format. I detested it during BB9.

Id love a shakeup of the nominations format like Josy suggested. With three housemates being nominated every week it would be refreshing to see three or more up for eviction every week.

Oh I know, I'd love it though :( when BB's next axed I think a network should bring it back perhaps under a different name and give a format similar to that a go, we don't have any proper gameshows of that kind on British TV (well, at least none I can think of off the top of my head)

BB9 was nothing at all like what I've just suggested though, in fact looking back now I know how the US show works it was laughable. Did they even have any power or was it just immunity? I remember Luke and Dale doing a political type speech to become the HoH, it was cringey in hindsight

I don't like the HoH stuff, don't think our format needs it.

But I'd welcome some actual active chances for the housemates to save themselves from eviction. More actual game playing is a bonus.

YES! C4 implemented it so poorly though haha.

And 3 nominee minimum puhlease. Having two negates vote to save.

I think in general the process needs drastic changing- something more towards BBUSA's style. Maybe a HOH that has the power to veto a nomination or something along those lines?

BB11 was the worst it could get with the unslayable bottom-feeder being ****ing DAVE of all people so just for that it should never come back again.

I think it would only be fair if everyone got to participate as well, and the winner could replace one nominee with someone else of their choice

I don't mind having one immune housemate per week that cant be nominated and then normal nominations. That way theres still nominations but also something different too

Yes, but it should be shown on live stream like it was in 2010. They never did that with the American veto as far as I know.

I quite like the idea of the housemates nominating to save from time to time...that way the hangers on and the wall flowers will struggle. Save and replace did work well though and it does give those that keep getting stuck up week after week an opportunity to avoid it. Also like others have said it should always be a min of three up for eviction, that way the votes are often split and makes it more interesting.

Something definitely has to be done to get the dead wood out before the characters. Vote to save with a minimum of three up for eviction would be a step towards this seems to me

I'd like it back albeit with a few tweaks.

One idea I had would be to have another housemate competing alongside the nominees representing the house, and should that housemate win then nominations remain as they were.

Personally I felt save and replace was a good concept, even though it helped aid Dave making the final when he would have been out in the first week otherwise it proved to be entertaining television and also broke the week up a bit more, plus it helped aid Caiomhe in her transformation into rootable house underdog with her two successive S&R wins.

You have to look at the other side though that it could have saved people like Arron and Conor. This is why I'd rather not have it.

You'd have to have challenges that weren't all physical based though (that was one flaw of the original S&R), for the Veto it varies between mental, physical and endurance, which should cater to most people
