The chair is meh but overall the diary room is at least better than last year which just looked annoying with the purple lights

BIG Brother bosses yesterday revealed the new diary room chair, and warned: “There will be no rest for the wicked!”

The design for this series is a far cry from the comfy furnishings used in previous shows and suggests the room will be no place to relax.

The hard-edged, copper detailing is likely to have this year’s wannabes literally on the edge of their seat.

And the room has been made to look like the inside of a prison cell.

Previous housemates have used the room as a retreat in which to rant about, or hide from, rivals.

But a show insider said: “One look at the chair and they’ll know that won’t be the case. This series is called Secrets And Lies.

“The housemates won’t know if the secrets they spill in the diary room stay secret, or whether Big Brother is telling lies.”

The first image of the Diary Room Chair has been revealed and it fit's into the eco house theme perfectly with it's red cushioned seat edged with a copper design, the rest of the DR has been designed to resemble the inside of an old prison cell.

Okay I looked...I don't hate it but it could be bigger. The square design of the red leather is weird, they should've tried to make it curved, might've looked better.

It reminds me of CBB7's Diary Room for some reason...but I don't think that's a good thing.

I am really happy with everything house wise and this too. For the first time on channel 5 we are getting a house THEME that fits in with the eye. Also the pinks and blues are gone and good riddance.

Do you know how I seen this? I was scrolling down my newsfeed on Facebook :bored: - only five years ago the Diary Room chair was held as something to bow down to and await, everyone no matter how big a fan looked forward to seeing it.

Have to say though - I like it. It's not the best we've ever had, and it's nothing special; but it's different.

And that's the way I think of the new house. I don't hate it, but I don't love it - I just appreciate how different it is. I mean when would Channel 5 ever of gone to the bother of changing the walls like that?
