How would you feel if a legit gay romance was to blossom in this years big brother house?
It hasn't happened for a while and with gay marriage being publicised so much lately would it be interesting to watch?

I'm not so sure it would be interesting to watch per se...
It wouldn't bother me or offend me, personally, it's just like any other relationship on the planet.
However, I guess it's a bit of a touchy subject, you know how some people can be touchy over gay romance, gay marriage, they don't like it "being shoved down their throat" (ahem)!
But, it's a reality TV show, real life, things happen, therefore people would have to deal with it - either that or switch off.
So, in simple terms, I can't say it's what I want the most out of this series :suspect: but I guess if it happens, it happens.
Vicky.

I would feel exactly the same as I feel about other 'romances'
I would hope BB didnt focus on it too much, then I would get pissed off that it became one of the main focuses...
And I would probably convince myself that it was fake, unless it was housemates I liked

who cares if it's gay or straight? no one. love is love, romance is romance, sex is sex.
personally I find ALL showmances obnoxious. gay or str8. i find romance boring. I want fights and strategies and bitching.

Yeah it would be a nice change.
It actually hasn't ever happened unless you count Charlie and Rodrigo which I don't.
Obviously the UK is very open to gay people now but I think they still find it hard to watch 2 guys holding hands and I know if I was to kiss a guy in public I would get stares so for the nation to actually see a real gay relationship I think would be really good.

Ziggy and Chantelle were the worst BB housemates of all time. IMHO.

The problem here is..BB tend to just put screaming queen stereotypical type gay housemates in. I dont think I have ever seen a 'normal' gay HM.
So if previous series are anything to go by, it still wouldnt really be a 'real' gay relationship if you get my drift..
(I wondered over the wording of this..but hopefully people understand what I mean)

they put over the top characters of all sexualities. plenty of the str8 men in that house have been "screaming queens" as well..
do the BB housemates that are str8 represent normal str8 people? no.
Aaron was the biggest queen they've ever put in the house, and he's suppossedly str8.

Derek (BB6) >> Any other gay BBUK housemate
I agree with Salman, I don't want any romances this year

why is it annoying? straight is a long word. Is "hets" better? I can say Hets if you prefer.

I totally agree.
Yeah the wordings fine, don't tread on egg shells lol.
2 straight guys falling for each other would be very interesting lol.
Watching them struggling to come to terms with their feelings haha.
I wanna see Brokeback Mountain not The Batty Wears Prada

He's not gay, he's just queeny. Lots of Hets are queeny. Ben from BB11 was also very queeny, but he was het too.

In general though, the straight people have been representative of straight people.
We only ever have 'stereotypical' gay people as far as I remember
The only lesbians I remember are Lisa(bb10) and Kitten. Both..masculine
They play to stereoptypes too much in the selection of housemates. I know many gay men in real life, and only a few are these camp personalities that we see on TV. The others..you wouldnt even know they were gay if they didnt tell you. Which is quite wrong really..that because of TV people associate being gay with being camp, when its not always the case.
(Apologies for taking the thread slightly offtopic too :blush2: )

Corrine from Bb11 was also lesbian, but she wasn't masculine at all. Mario(the mole) from bb11 also was not very queeny.
Obviously Gareth(the rugby player) from CBB wasn't queeny.

Didnt even know she was a lesbian..just had to google it. Seems she 'turned' lesbian after her husbands death as she couldnt find a man that compared to her husband..

I agree about Gareth (though I didnt watch much of that series..dont like CBB)
Generally though, they do play to stereotypes..I dont really see how anyone can think otherwise

What's your problem? :conf:
It's completely unnecessary to detract from the thread topic just so try and make yourself feel superior. It's obvious you knew what they meant by "str8".
Anyway, back on topic, I'd find it as boring and pointless as any other BB "romance".

If it was to happen I'm sure it could be a nice little change from the typical TV romance. But We'll wait and see :)
