So we've been told the DR is upstairs this year - and it makes sense, because if you take the 3D Tour of the house - you'll actually see that there is two chairs upstairs near the entrance.
Usually housemates get told off for even going upstairs if it isn't an eviction.
Which, makes me think - that there may be a 'tunnel' like in BB5-BB7, that separates the initial first staircase from the rest of the house.
Reason being - look at those two doors, they just look too plain and simple to be a door to exit the Big Brother house, can you really picture the sliding doors on the exterior to go with that? They won't. There has to be some sort of room beyond the entrance, that separates it - otherwise they wouldn't have two seats upstairs, because housemates aren't allowed within that close of contact with the main door.
Also, the Diary Room door - I'm convinced is one of these and I'm leading towards the red door. It's just strange that there's no 'lock switch' above it. :suspect:

The sliding doors are to the right of that picture?

That just looks stupid then  It would of been so different had they of gone for the red or blue door as an entrance door - kind of foreign.

The red door might still be the diary room, the lights downstairs might tell housemates if they can go up or not. They might push the button, wait for the green light, then go upstairs? It's possible? Will probably just be downstairs though.

Surely one of the housemates could just boot down the red door? Wouldn't be that hard.

I think the diary room will be one of the two blue doors under the stairs, with the other one being the store room.
I did originally think it'd be cool to have the diary room upstairs but I'd much rather that red door lead down some secret stairs to a secret room or house :amazed:

But we have heard from several sources of it being upstairs - and it makes sense, there's nowhere else downstairs it could be.
There's a blue door near the kitchen but that's a store room.

Oh really? Well then I guess it's behind the red door then. I suppose if it was downstairs the button would be on the wall not on the pole.

If it is upstairs I'm curious to know how they're gonna let a housemate know the door is open. I know people on here generally aren't fans of the neon/mood lighting but I think it would've been a nice touch to make that wooden pole that the button is on have a neon backing that's red when the door is closed and turns green when it's open, so that the housemate knows and can go upstairs.

I can see housemates (especially the brainless ones) getting confused and trying to go through the fake doors. Hope they are reinforced.

the door bell could go green as a signal to go upstairs?
if you look at the chair it seems to be in another room.

That was my only thought. If the DR is downstairs, wouldn't the button have been put on the wall net to the door as it always has been, rather than on the wooden pole thing?
Who knows, we'll find out tomorrow. It's interesting to know the DR was actually upstairs with the testers.

There's a little noise that plays when they press it / when it opens :) We can't really hear it though, but they do.

Hey new member here :)
I am not sure if the furniture upstairs will actually stay, I hope it does though.
And in a way I wish the tunnel returned so that housemates could not see the evictee leaving!

They wouldn't have the Diary Room up the stairs, incase of someone with a disability.
If you look in the 'Kitchen' view on the tour, turn the camera, you can see the door bell on a wooden post near the kitchen scales and behind the cow-type-box there are two green eyes above two blue doors.
Anyway, we'll find out tomorrow :)
Plot twist - the diary room's inside the cow.
