Marcus tweeted me saying he is doing live voice over. Now this could just be for the housemates' facts as they enter the house.. But it could be likely that he's doing the opening line :(

If Emma isn't awkwardly interviewing them on the way in :amazed:

Why must Marcus do it?? URGH

Hopefully Emma's off stage when they enter but I doubt it.

They'll probably bring Rylan on to replace Brian's "Just sayin" with "drop me out".

Oh ffs why doesn't he just **** off?

Cant the producers see that we don't enjoy him screaming over the launch?

I literally just wanted Emma with an opening line, then the housemates enter alone with no interview.

Instead we will get Marcus putting on an over the top accent whilst dramatic music blasts out over pictures of the house then titles roll.

I wouldn't even mind if Marcus did not insist on yell like does he not know he has a ****ing mic??

What is wrong with y'all and the nitpicking with Marcus. He;s not all he show is about, just enjoy it fgs.

But I agree with you guys here :idc:

I didn't expect any less cause I remember he tweeted someone a few weeks ago saying he was practicing his lines for introducing Emma

'PLEASE WELCOME YOUR NEW HOSTTTTT...EMMAAAAA WILLISSSSS'

Can't wait for the tacky text that's been made on Paint to come up on screen too

'NEW HOUSE'

'NEW HOST'

'NEW HOUSEMATES'

'BIG SECRET'

When Emma should be the one saying it

Its not nit picking its the biggest episode of the series and we don't want some up his own arse cartoon character screaming over it.

I literally have to turn my tv down sometimes because he is just to loud and over the top.

Really spoils it for me as it does for most people on this forum.

I think all your lives would be a lot easier if you just accepted that this is the way Marcus is now. It's a mild irritant on the live shows and a really small part of them.
The highlight shows on the other hand....

Why do we even need a presenter introduction with the overuse of the theme tune :(

What's wrong with the good old days of presenter opening line > GOOD new titles > pan shot of the crowd zooming into the host who is already on stage > presenter introduces the show, teases what's coming up etc > house tour > break > housemates with no pre-entrance interview

He would be fine, if he would just tone it down some.

You're all taking it too seriously, its an animated-like voice over for an entertainment show

The X Factor has that weird posh guy, but nobody takes notice of him because theres bigger things going on. A voiceover isn't gonna change the quality of the contestants or anything else that actually matters.

It works on X Factor though because it's meant to be over dramatic, Big Brother isn't...it's a (or at least should be) a reasonably serious social documentary with hints of a light entertainment show, him screaming with tacky graphics made on Paint makes the show look like it should be on CBBC

I don't think it works on The X Factor, I just think their fans care more about the important things

If Peter Dickson stopped doing X Factor voiceovers I'd be really pissed off, much like a new eye logo is to Big Brother each year, he's a core element of the show for me as are the over dramatic pre-title VT's he narrates. He has a lot of fans too cause they're always using him on the spin-off shows for both X Factor and BGT. I'd say he's more iconic a voice than Marcus actually.

16 new people are going into your favourite TV show, I don't understand why people think a voice over will change or ruin it.

Part of me thinks Marcus knows he if they ever made him stop doing the narration, the show would feel different, so he in a way has a monopoly on the position. He can probably demand (within reason of course) to do the introduction/housemate intros/countdown, and they have to agree, because he is so synonymous with the show.

Should've gone back to 'the Davina' way.
No camp interview as they go in. Just let them hear the boos from the audience and have Emma read out the facts off-screen.
Davina used to interview the housemates on Celebrity which was understandable because we already 'knew' those people. But by giving these unknowns a chance to speak to the public before they go in, they are putting across an 'outside-of-the-house' version of them and it's more interesting to see what they are like in the house. I don't know if i've put that well, but hopefully you get what I mean.

I think it's perfectly reasonable to believe after doing 13 years of a show, he has probably made some requests to expand his role, to many he is Big Brother, that's enough to make anyone ask for more. Perhaps "demand" was the wrong word, I'm not saying he is in control, but he is probably one of the only people still with the show from Day One, production would be wise to not annoy him.

I love how some people are saying we're 'taking it too seriously'.

We're the hardcore fans - so excuse us for not lieing back and accepting this sh*te, we're entitled to an opinion on a show we care about, and we like having our voices heard.

If every Big Brother fan had the attitude that you lot do, were would we be now? Probably still stuck in the days of CBB8 - but because we've made our voices heard and not laid down and took Channel 5's gimmicky bullsh*t, we've made a change.

I swear to good ******, back in the days of BB10 - this forum was buzzing with fans who actually had a passion for the show and cared about every little element. The way the majority of this forum act now is a disgrace, you're literally made to feel like a freak for having an opinion on an aspect of the show.

Agree, I so miss the Summer or 2009- everyone on the forum buzzing for the eye reveal, house tour etc and caring about the quality of the show as die hard fans- now all these newbies are somewhat brainwashed by the travesties that have been C5 BB so far.

Patrick everyone in this section has a passion for the show or they obviously wouldnt be here but I really do think some members take the Marcus thing and some other things they see as negative too serious, if you don't like it then just concentrate on the good things that have/are happening this year instead of letting something annoy you so much that it ruins your enjoyment of the launch.

Just get the munchies in, chill out and enjoy while trying your best to ignore Marcus as much as possible if you have to.

TOWIE, Twins, models, Celebrity shagger, clouds, housemates faces on the TV screens and now this. I am starting to think this will be another Channel 5 ****fest with tacky editing. The only change seems to be the live feed. :(

I just think people need to stop reacting so extremely. Marcus is recording a line so the whole live show is ruined. The house looks good so the show is saved.

Just like what you like, say what you don't. Chill out and review the show when you have actually watched it.

Nobody's being lambasted for having an opinion.

We all have opinions on all the different aspects of the show, but some people think relatively minor aspects (such as Marcus saying one line at the start of a 90 minute launch show) are going to spoil the series for them.

Just look on the bright side.

To me, that's more of a "fan" thing to do than bashing it to death before it's started over the relatively small amount of information we have to go on.

Yes, it would be nice for Marcus to quiet down, to have a nicely designed logo, a lovely house etc. Does any of that make or break a series? No.
