And how many nominations will she survive? Place your bets here, I'm guessing evicted Week 4 in her first time nominated.

Maybe not in your head, but people were clearly fans of those 2.
As someone else said, the odds are against them because there's usually 1 or 2. There were more people of colour in BB6 and thus we saw a wider range of personalities from them, some popular some not.

Because Rachel wasn't as popular as John James. Why's that illogical?
Are you really suggesting Rachel was evicted because she's black?
Not to mention, popularity changes like the wind in Big Brother. You can be favourite to win one second and evicted the next.

Because of all the hormonal teenage girls that fancy them? Have you taken a look at the demo of people that vote on these shows? There's a reason One Direction are so popular.
As for Rachel, I can't for the life of me remember what she did in the house. Possibly a clue as to why she was evicted. Looking at wikipedia she arrived in week 5, latecomers rarely do well and have a disadvantage. She's not going to win against housemates with established fanbases who at least were entertaining and actually shown doing something in the highlights shows.

That still doesn't explain the fact that two weeks after Rachel was evicted, John James was evicted with over 30% in an eight way. The hormonal teenage girls aren't that fickle, they're ride or die.
That would be a clue in a vote to save but not in a vote to evict. Andrew and JJ did just fine as intruders (Andrew coming in at the same time, JJ coming in even later) so I guess being white and having a penis really helped them.
Brian Belo won in 2007. #whatracism
You're treating it like it's an "all or nothing" situation when it's not. Just because Brian (who was also fortunate enough to have a penis) won doesn't mean that the GBP is never racist ever.

Only if they're immune all series.
I can't help but laugh at this. The same thought goes through my head for BBUSA and BB Canada. The black female contestants, just seem to be pre-conceived as controversial and argumentative, don't they? I think it's more the connotation that comes with them that goes against them, than their actual personalities. Cause if a black girl gets in an argument the public's immediate reaction is "oh that sassy black girl from the ghetto is at it again"
Hira should have been in the final 3
Hira should've won BB10, one of the best female housemates ever, and definitely the greatest housemate of that series, by miles.

You know why your racism, in BB or in other places in Britain never changes? Because apparently, it doesnt exist. This perpetual denial, is why there s no progress. Whenever its brought up, the loud denial, makes it quickly look like youre paranoid, and should just shut up. Just like alcoholism, if you dont admit it, you will always be one.
And the thing is, especially nowadays, a lot of people are racist without even realising it. They try not to be, or they dont believe they are. Hence why they will like this black housemate, until they do one thing wrong. Then its off with her head.
Unless I SEE some progress, BB race disussions are pointless. Just sit back relax, and watch the exact thing happen.

I was gonna post something similar to this but thought better of it cuz I know the reactionaries on the forum would sh*t a brick but I 100% agree with Wildcat.
One black winner in 13 series of BB is a disgrace. Not something to be proud of. The record of black women is abysmal. Another example I like to go to is Sylvia Barrie from BB9. Evicted with a whopping 90.2%. I bet most of you cant even remember her never mind what she did to be ousted like that. She had one argument that she didnt even start but simply stuck up for herself but she was friend with the appalling Alexandria. Eviction by association. But it doesn't end there. She went on to become a glamour model and posed on page three. The 2nd black woman to feature on that page. This was met with racist comments on twitter. I'd say the Sun and BB viewers were a similar demographic wouldn't you?. Yeh. sure. No racism going on here.
Wildcat!
13-06-2013, 07:02 PM
I remember Sylvia. She was a bit mischevous, and cheeky, but she was alright. She got a triple whammy: She was a beautiful female, she was black, and she was friends, with the horrible bitches Jennifer, and Dennis. Hence the 90%. Herself, she was a good laugh.

Have people ever heard of positive discrimination? You're effectively saying we should have another black winner for the sake of a black winner.
Black people are still a minority in number in this country and therefore the odds of them being in the house are slimmer than white and therefore the odds of them winning are smaller again.

so people think black women get voted out cause they are black ?
thats just crazy talk .most women get voted out in bb . just so happens there hasn't been many nice ones
plenty of black guys have done well in bb. and different races. etc. all comes down to personality
It's not that the public thinks "I'm going to evict her BECAUSE she's black" but black women are more likely to be labeled as loud, obnoxious, aggressive, etc. than others and it just fits the mold of the "angry black girl" stereotype. Marcus was quite aggressive in BB10 but you don't see him called it as much as, say, Shievonne.

Do you think it's because those women are black specifically though or do you think that they don't send in enough black contestants? I think alot of white women don't do well either but there's a higher volume of them sent in so in theory they have a better chance of sending a white woman in who's liked then a black woman, just because they always send in a limited amount of black women .......and black men too come to think of it. So it could just be a case of the odds being more in white contestants favour simply because there's always alot more of them?

Gina has already made history as the first black woman to survive that many evictions.
Heaven survived one.
Makosi survives two.
Gina has survived three, but was voted into the SH to be immune one occasion. So really, she has survived 3 evict votes and 1 save vote= 4 evictions.

I wouldn't even include Makosi. She actually only survived one public vote which was when the entire house was up, and the other time she and Vanessa actually did receive the highest votes. So really only Heaven and Noirin had survived one eviction each before Gina came along.

IIRC, Charley lasted so long because of producer manipulation.
As is, it's not the colour of their skin that gets them evicted but the personality they have. They seem to mostly go for overbearing bitches.
Well the men are hardly much better.
