The only one I can think of picking up CBB AND BB is Channel 4 taking it back again, as many of their shows have failed to get the figures that BB used to get for them, but if a company could only take up CBB if they wanted to, I could see ITV trying to go for it.

Are you actually joking?

That would never happen.

Do you think Endemol would have sold the rights to Channel 5 if ITV were interested?

Think about it.

Let's be honest - there wasn't exactly a massive channel battle to get hold of it, was there?

If Channel 4 continues to decline over the years they would be the only channel that would take both the celebrity and civilian series. As they are probably the only channel that has the money and would be willing to invest in it like that.

Sky would take the CBB show, that's for sure. As far as the civilian show goes though, if C5 ditch it then no other channel will take it apart from possibly C4.

Although I think C4 would be a bit adamant in taking back the show as it does make them look a bit stupid axing it in the way they did.

It was a massive mistake for the show coming back so early anyway. All it needed was a 5-10 year rest, and then it could have been brought back in a big way. Channel 5 taking it so quickly is what has lead the show leading to an even bigger impending death.

Gosh, it was only a thought. I don't know much about tv company's or anything like that.

There was no need to be so rude :( I didn't know who would go for it, was only putting an optimistic spin on things.

To be fair, it's not a ridiculous suggestion. Remember, ITV is responsible for TOWIE. It's not like their dripping with class.

maybe the real fight would be over CBB part of the franchise
when the talks with C5 broke down (and everyone assumed it was over) the guy running endemol UK was planning on putting BB totally online via Youtube.

It could be that plan would be brought back and just find a channel that would show launches and evictions the rest online. Netflix or another online company would be my guess Sky have stated a few times now they don't want Bigbrother

How would they be able to afford to run the show that way though? Especially the celebrity series, where some of the bigger names are rumoured to be raking in a 3 figure sum?

just cant work out why they didn't take the risk this time.
everything that's not nailed down has a sponsor as is.

Endemol UK are doing something badly wrong when other formats that just have remained loyal to the idea are doing okay and more importantly making money.

sounds daft at the moment I could well see Channel 4 going after the Celeb version again other channels are dying for an IAC type show to draw people in. If when this current run ends and Celeb starts the numbers are greatly up I think this will be the last normal series. It's when the contract is up for renewal the fun begins.

I'm a celeb is clearly doing something right - the basis of it was clearly inspired by Big Brother and it's only a few years younger than BB and the last series was often pulling in 9-10 million viewers.

The most realistic options I could see are MTV and Sky Living.

MTV is aimed at the same sort of market as Big Brother; teenagers and young adults mainly, and with the amount of reality TV they have started showing Big Brother could fit in quite well.

Sky Living, which is largely aimed at women as it shows mainly lifestyle and some reality shows (Britain & Ireland's Next Top Model for instance) could be another option. However, since Sky showed little interest in the past this seems a little more unlikely.

Watch or Really could be another option, though if it went to either of these channels it would probably become a more "family friendly" show, particularly if Watch aired it.

Overall, MTV seems like it would be the best place for Big Brother to go to.

So the next question being could MTV afford it?

I reckon they could.

No other channel will now touch the series when Channel 5 axes it. It's tainted and it's ratings have fallen even more since Channel 4 axed. The only place it could go is Channel 4. Their shows have recently being getting on average 1-2 million a week.

Maybe they could move it to Ireland and put it on an Irish channel?

The Big Brother brand is tarnished over here too, though an Irish version of Big Brother would do quite well over here I think, for a few years at least.
