Avatar FREE Thread/Discussion...Group??

Any chance we can flashback to '1995 style' and can have a discussion thread for the few of us who don't fill our post with seizure inducing avatars? Animated icons should also be discouraged on this thread. Boring, serious and grumpy Members will always be encouraged.

Agree, I don't mind it too much, but when the signature (or 4 massive flashing pictures) are longer than a post it gets annoying.

Yeah, gotta love those when there's a 'one word' comment, then you have to scroll down half a page to get to the next comment. I got the novelty factor back in the late 90s when we got all 'giddy' seein a word or small pic doing a backflip or something equally Amazing!! ..WOWEE!!

Maybe it's just me, but i just find it all a bit passé nowadays..

Click the link, scroll down to thread display options and you can uncheck the boxes to turn off sigs and avatars.

I like the avatars, it's much easier to follow who posts than just looking at a name, but I digress..

Yeah, the images are automatically recognisable to me. So the avatars are good.

I agree about sigs that are half a page long.

But where are these words doing backflips? :shrug:

Be good if there was a 'sticky' or something at the top of the page that told idiots like me you can turn them all off. I spose though, there's a danger of having half a page of sticky's at the start of forum..

I have had to turn Sigs off as I am paranoid about running over MB usage!!!!

(used 170GB out of 300GB)


Since joining I haven't put up a sig or avatar....but I just made a Sig the other day!
