This would actually be good - a logistical nightmare though

BBAU won't even start until at least the end of July, can't possibly see this happening.

Hmm, I remember the phone call in BB8.
I do think out of all the countries Big Brother, Australia is like our 'cousin'.
BB USA has BB Canada, and I'm sure other countries have their counterparts too - so I think if it did happen, this would make sense.
Although here's a better idea:
Basically what you said OP - only the monitors in our house living area displays what's going on in the secret bedroom and the BB14 housemates are watching them, all week.
Then on Friday, they need to pick one housemate to join them as a contestant - the other four go home to Australia.

Problem with that is all we will see of our housemates for a week is them sat on the sofa not doing much

Explain, if they have no say in who leaves then how can their disgusting presence ruin the show :suspect:

They get to vote America's favourite, therefore choosing a future returning player (e.g. Frank, Jeff)

I guess the best example I'll give is when for no reason whatsoever America was allowed to vote to give a Coup d'Etat to the disgusting Jeff, which effectively allowed him to overthrow an HoH reign and make new nominees with no PoV opportunity. And then when he returned two years later and someone backstabbed him the cat ladies made the lovely and tasteful FB page "America hates Shelly Moore" that was full of death threats both on her and her daughter (who was maybe 11 years old?) so yeah you're in for a treat this summer. Especially with America's MVP or whatever the **** this year, where each week America gets to vote for "the best player" (which as we are ostensibly voting before the show even starts, have **** all to go off of) to get special powers or some ****.

As if 5 Aussies will be able to keep quiet with their brash, over the top accent.

Big Brother Australia doesn't start until August, when our version basically ends.
