Sallie is making it difficult for her. Sallie needs to sit still, listen and answer her questions.

I think overall she will be good but it didn't help that her first interview was with someone she obviously disliked. (cant blame her) It was awkward in parts because of that and you could see she got wound up when Sallie told the crowd to **** off.

The crowd absolutely spoiled it. If they would have just shut up then Emma probably could have got a good interview from her, but she struggled because she was focused on the crowd reaction.
I was so happy Sallie put them all in their places.

If she can't handle the crowd she should go back to BBOTS where they know their place!

It was poor.
All down to the crowd though.
Love how Sallie told them to **** off haha.
This is why we need a studio away from the crowd.

Crowd were atrocious and Sallie was difficult. I'd love for Emma to straight up address the crowd, telling them to behave, Big Brother Australia style.
But I daren't think how Brian would've handled that interview.

Take away the crowd.. then she'd be alright! but she has made it pretty obvious she doesn't like Sallie.

Liked Sallie telling the crowd where to go, too.If they don't want h.m's who have just been exposed to the abuse that Sallie came out to then they should probably make them behave better-Emma should've understood how she was feeling. Or maybe they just don't care how the h.m's feel.....

It was a baptism of fire. I thought she coped well and stayed on point, she didn't get flustered when it got difficult and she maintained her professionalism at all times. Our girl's done good.

Yeah, I agree. Emma was so biased towards Michael, obviously because Michael was part of the shows twist. But Sallie's basically been ****ed about for the past week, and even though she didn't handle it well, Emma should have comforted her more.
I think she done the best she possibly could in that situation, Sallie made it really difficult by acting the way she did though and it ended up just awkward to watch because of her IMO.

If only...
She just didn't get it did she? No ability to concentrate - asking for food - asking for a drink - focussing on the crowd and making it so difficult for Emma. Interrupting Michael with her boring interjections...I am so relieved it is no longer all about Sallie Waterhouse/Axl or whoever she imagines she is. She certainly has no awareness of how she comes across. Now the rest of the HMs can spread themselves out without constantly being dominated by this emotionally needy creature. I for one will not miss the "I'm honest, I say it how it is...' she is totally deluded. Good choice in voting her out...
Emma did very well with SO very little...

I thought she did a good job considering how much of a personality Sallie has.

Great job by Emma. Am very bemused by the fact that Ryland's been advised to wear a bright white jacket to detract from his ridiculous Hollywood gnashers.

She did as well as anyone could have with someone acting like a mental patient on the stage.

It was very awkward to watch, I though Emma handled it best she could under the circumstances, Salle certainly didn't make it easy for her.

she totally bottled it....she should have told sally straight....since when are interviews allowed to descend into just an endless stream of abusive expletives? Honestly the whole show was a complete and utter disgrace....truly the beginning of the end for this washout of a show
Emma did great it was hard because she had 2 housemates

I agree.
I have had to eat my words as to Emma and concede I was wrong to doubt her ability, I think she is doing really good.
It was a difficult interview to conduct and for me as with you, she really shone in the role, I thnk anyway.

She did well all things considered, but C5 really should have pulled Sallie out of there when it was Michael's turn.
Felt she was a bit out of her depth tbh

I thought she did great.
She did tell Sallie to shut up a few times. Emma kept her cool quite well with her! Given this was Emma's first interview and she was given a very difficult housemate to interview (plus the loud crowd did not help) she handled it as good as possible. I have no complaints really.
Davina had some pretty difficult interviews during her time. So it's no different to that. Emma stayed very professional and didn't whack Sallie one so I can only commend her for that.
Just imagine it this way, Brian would have been a wreak managing that interview! If anything I blame the audience outside. The studio audience are told to only cheer and be nice, why can't the outside audience be told to do the same during interviews?
She did ok. Sallie was being difficult though (surprise surprise)
She still did better than Brian!

I would've either told Sallie to shut up already, or taken her by the arm and marched her off the stage during Michael's interview. That's probably why I'm not a television presenter.
Emma handled a bizarre situation with as much grace as anyone could have. People are only second-guessing her because she's new to the main show.

No hard side to her

She handled it very well - I do think she was wrong though for telling Sallie to mind her language when she told the crowd to ****** up.
The crowd were more annoying than Sallie was.

I thought she did very well. She only lost any control due to the bizarre decision to include Sallie in Michael interview. Maybe Emma could have been a bit firmer with Sallie but its not her job to criticise the contestants. Sallie wouldn't shut up even at questions that had nothing to do with her. Not much Emma could have done about that.

I think she did well....Sallie was hard work and Emma didnt take any of her crap. It was one of the best episodes and eviction interviews ever....loved it.

Brian had been in the job two years yet still looks clueless in that interview. I admire you for trying to find a good Brian interview but trust me there weren't any.

Brian would have run away screaming like a little girl and Davina would have started gurning to the cameras! :D
Emma did well in difficult circumstances.
Not very good, Sallie walked all over her.

I've just watched the interview again, on D5. I think Emma handled it much better than Brian or Davina would have done.
Brian was pretty crap - and don't forget Davina's interview technique also used to come in for endless criticism on here.
Also remember that Emma would have had the producers yelling in her earpiece. They probably felt it made compelling watching and the last thing the producers would want was for it to be cut short.

I think she was fine, for a first interview as well.
I don't know where people are getting "she showed she didn't like Sallie" from. I don't know whether she personally did or she didn't but in the interview she was very fair to her, gave her a chance to speak but when someone's going off on tangents and won't allow someone else their time to speak then they need to be told to shut up.
As do the crowd really, but no doubt they have people encouraging the crowd to be as vile as possible. But at least they closed the door on the eye.
