I don't think she was lying but I also don't think she should really be pitied for having a rent of £250, that's pretty standard for student housing and it's pretty much the aim of students to get as low rent as they can anyway

It's possible to be that clueless. I wouldn't have known how much a room would have cost, but I have travelled a small bit with family, enough to be aware of the price of things. So I could have given a much better guess.

Maybe Wolfy just goes from the arms of her lover out to sea to catch their dinner and returns home again to her.

She doesn't actually seem all there to me, or a bit in her own world, and it's not just the doctor dolittle side of her chatting to animals and insects.
