I would have jumped up with him had I been in there. The twist would have very likely been far less controversial and effective without Dan doing his detective role as to it.
With both him and Michael stirring things up.

Dan's definitely my fav at the moment. but it's only week 1. I also loved Sallie in the house and in her eviction.

I think it's pathetic that they are getting demonized and condemned for being so outspoken and truthful instead of just going along with BB.

I think they were the most honest 2 in that house.

I think he has every right to be smug cause he was being told he was a mean person, and his comments were unfair against Michael, when actually he was right, and he didn't deserve to be told to shut up and stop talking about. he was right! and he was criticized by the other housemates, especially Dexter just for speaking the truth!

basically he was a whistleblower! He's the Bradley Manning of the house. he's the Edward Snowden. Good on him.

Indeed - it says a lot about people that they support Sally who speaks her mind but is vile, rude and disgusting as a human being yet Dan also speaks his mind and defends himself but is nice.

Examine yourself if you support one over the other.

I supported Sally because I though although she was very rude and often quite nasty there was an emotional honesty about her which I liked. Dan doesn't appear to me to have any redeeming characteristics whatsoever at this point.

Nonsense. Dan still had doubts, whether he was right about Michael being an actor.

So why is he getting the credit ?

Oh it's cause Sallie (the real one who was definite about him being an actor) she can't be given credit cos she's too outspoken

and showed up BB management all along for how they were lying about how good MIchael's acting was and how all the house had been so fooled by him

I wish desperate Dan would shut up. If I was in the BB house and suspected Michael was a mole I would have kept quiet about it.

I'm not convinced that Dan REALLY did know that Michael was the actor (puppet). But I'm pretty much convinced that Dan knew about Michael before he (Dan) entered the house as part of the second batch of HMs on the Friday night. BB might have had him and others in a hotel overnight and a whole day but it is not difficult to get information through (maybe a fellow detective let him in on the BB secret). It just doesn't make sense that Dan knew as much as he did without having the knowledge in advance.

I didn't like it. I know Michael wasn't always convincing. But Dan being right doesn't feel errr, right.
He spoiled it and his delight makes me cross. I can't put my finger on it feels wrong.

I find it interesting that Dan went around the house after the reveal telling housemates that HE was the ONE who KNEW the secret all along and was the ONLY one to know. To me, that comes across very childish, a sort of 'I told you so' playground thing.

I'm certain on this weekends Psych show they will mention how Dan is trying to fill the dominating role, jumping up and down after the reveal to tell the others 'I am the boss, I know everything'.

Fair play to him though, he did guess nicely, however the way he's shoved it in peoples faces somewhat dampened the twist overall for me.

you seem to ignore the fact that he was told off by many housemates for saying what he said about Michael, and that he was accussed of bullying by many of them. So he has every right to point out that he was right.

Dan is a parent and gay, so she will have appealed to him. If you don't find her sexy you find her childlike... her rants were like a 4yr old having a tantrum.
He was constantly trying to placate and comfort her.

Dan is by far my least favourite housemate so far. His arrogance and smug behaviour seems to know no bounds and the way he has his arguments in front of all the other housemates to make his victim feel more awkward is just horrible.

Actually it says **** all.

In the context of a gameshow it could simply mean wanting to keep controversial hm's in the house for the drama/entertainment.

But Dan wasn't the only one to think Michael was an actor. Gina mentioned her suspisions about BB to BB in the DR after she was nominated. Gina was also in the second batch of HMs to enter the house, the night after Michael. I would bet 100% that Dan was told about Michael before he (Dan) entered the house - the information was leaked to him somehow. Remember cops are pretty good at supplying information to the media as we know from Phlebgate.

My sentiments exactly and I have thought this all along. And you are right that it has nothing to do with his so-called detective skills. In fact if he was that good at sussing things out he wouldn't have left the police force. Someone told him in advance, but it amazes me how so many people (even Emma and those on BOTS) believe Dan figured the puppet out just because he is an ex-detective. I believe he didn't figure it out but he was, in fact, told all about Michael.

That's my point though. Dan is shoving it in peoples faces like he is the only one that knew. Gina mentioned it but she has by no means shoved it in peoples faces like he has.

The fact Dan went around to every housemate going "I told you" "I knew it" "I was right" etc.. just shows typical child-like behaviour.

Dan was well onto it first and from the 2nd or 3rd day too. Simple as that.
Sallie was convinced by Dan's thinking and then she really got into it too.

Had she stayed in last night, they both, 'justifiably and rightly' would have been able to shout from the rooftops or as near as they could get to them. ''We knew he was an actor''.
I hope he goes on and on about it myself after the stick he has got.

Dan didn't know 100% that Michael was an actor, he just thought he was. Yes his instincts were right, but others had questioned it too, not just Dan...

The guy is so arrogant & full of himself I bet he wont stop going on about how he was right for the rest of his time in there

he has nothing to be proud about he knew a guy was in there acting doing a job and he set about to make his life a misery for doing his job on a game show.
when he should of thought it was great and treated him with respect. or least treated him decent.
but dan has no respect for other people. he just wants to be right and thats allt hat matters.
