Does anyone agree with me that last nights show goes down with classic big brother, even contending with some of the classic episodes from the channel 4 era? Personally for me, that was the best channel 5 episode ever.

It just had that big atmosphere feel that Brian couldn't achieve, Emma is gonna make the evictions for me. She's just amazing :love:

Emma played a huge part in making it awesome. The feeling that anything could happen. But also how much Michael stirred the pot and alot to do with how epic it was last night.

I have to agree about Emma. Her first eviction night was better than every single one Brian ever did. He was so stifled and generally an awful presenter while Emma's just a natural and actually sounds like she gives a ****** about BB, unlike Brian who obviously didn't even watch the show!

It would have been terrible if Brian still did the live shows, he would have ****ed up that interview really badly - Emma held it together excellently :dance:

It would have taken a syringe full of Thorazine to sort out Sallie. Christ that woman's a mess.

She got a strong, favourable crowd reaction. The crowd seemed really enthusiastic throughout the show, in a way I don't remember in recent seasons. I thought she was a bit subdued during her first shows (the house tour, for example) compared to Davina's breathless delivery, but she's becoming my favourite host of all.

To be fair though she did try - and any other presenter would have failed just as much as Emma trying to make Sallie be quiet. Brain would have done nothing. Even Davina would have struggled.

Sallie is quite one of a kind, not someone you can easily shut up. The loud audience outside shouting at her didn't help mind.

I have seen some people have a go at Emma for not controlling her. Its like telling a driver off for not controlling his car when his wheel blows off. How can you control a train wreck like that? Determined to get the attention and be ignorant and disgraceful.

It was a brilliant episode; the highlights had the bitching and arguing. Sallie owning the crowd was the icing on the cake.
