View Full Version : Vote to Evict a disaster for this series?

I kind of feel, even though she was insufferable at times, that Sallie has gone way too early, and I think the reintroduction of negative voting will impact severely on this series, and what could have been a much better series.
For starters they got the public to choose the nominee`s in the first week, which I'm amazed they did, because the producers know by now that getting the public to choose such an outcome using negative voting is a complete no go. So why they allowed this to happen I am completely miffed about.
Then of course there are future evictions... Its looking extremely predictable, and if its going the way I think it will, then we are heading for a Daley, Callum, Jackie and another couple of bores finale.
I can't see any of the `favourites` (from polls) surviving the next few weeks, all because of bringing back that ghastly negative voting system.
Will this be the series that `could have been`?

I really don't know. When it went to vote to save I was so frustrated by that and felt a lot of it was purely a money making exercise. Why would the favourites form the polls not survive the negative vote by the public who have made them favourites.

Sallie had to go to save Dex and Gina, same with Jemima.
The nomination results are spoiling it, not the eviction results (so far).

?!? Did you not watch the show on channel 4?
It regularly was the case that least favourite housemates/radar dodgers survived time and time again.

Yes but has the public not been allowed to choose , they may well not of been up in the first place.

Well I think that is the point here. The HM's do the noms, usually, the public chose to save before and now choose to evict and I cannot see any difference.

Why does the voting change make any difference to that, please will you explain. The public only decided the noms in the first week of this show. I am talking about when the HM's nominate.

Public nominated Sallie, Gina and Dexter in week 1.

If Sallie was still there, I'd probably be taking pain killers in between watching her shout for an hour and arguing to TiBB members about reasons why she is a ****. Glad shes gone. Ruined the first week with her attention gagging.

we can do any about it
channel 5 want it and they got it

She was a horrible ,empty headed, loud mouthed, selfish toddler and ruined my first week too.

Are you being serious ??
Everyone knows voting to save is completely different from voting to evict.
Save - boring one usually goes
Evict - boring one never goes
To the OP, this will ruin the entire show never mind just the series.
Awful idea

I always hated vote to evict from starting to watch BB, for me it was a really good thing Channel 5 did by bringing in vote to save.
The problem was for a lot of the time there were only 2 housemates up anyway so vote to save or vote to evict was immaterial in that scenario.
This series once I knew there were going to be at least 3 housemates up every week, then vote to save made even more sense and for me, should have been left in place.
I agree with the OP, vote to evict will likely spoil a fair bit this series as to housemates left at the end.
The other thing I dislike now with vote to evict, it is all too easy to organise voting against a particular housemate.
Last week, I knew of people,(who wanted Jemima out), getting in touch with their friends by e mail to people who don't even watch BB but asking them to ring and vote for Jemima.
With more housemates up though and under vote to save, that is a little harder to do as people then have to vote for several more housemates rather than just all the voting directed at one of the housemates.
I detest vote to evict and am really disappointed this backward move was done this series.
It will be interesting to see if they keep it for CBB.I would doubt that very much.

So the public get it wrong with vote to evict and get it right with vote to save???

Definitely agree with this.

Surely they just rally support to vote to save their favourite in vote to save.

They can but the effect can be reduced.
if you have say 4 housemates up for eviction and it's vote to evict, then you only need to organise voting against the housemate you hate, so a good few people would only need to vote for that housemate,so could likely vote a good number of times and get them out.
With vote to save,I agree they could get votes for the person they want to save but the outcome is less certain in my view as to getting a housemate out.
Vote to save may well save their favourite but not get rid of the housemate they want out.
Which means vote to evict makes that a great deal easier to achieve if you want a particular housemate out as opposed to vote to save in the scenario of 4 or more housemates up, 3 others would need to be voted for heavily to achieve that.

Correct me if I'm wrong somebody , but are we now the only country which still uses negative voting ?

Thank you for that. Yes I see how it affects the outcome when there are more than two housemates up and this series that seems to be the norm.

The public, the ones who matter and watch the edited so-called highlights simply evict the ones they dislike, TiBB and other forum members just want to see arguments and fights and other "entertainment". Instead of criticising the vote to evict you should be criticising Ch5's editing.

I really don't think it makes any difference one way or the other. Vote to evict has seen strong BB HMs booted and vote to save has also seen strong BB HMs booted out.

Leaving the noms in the hands of the HM,s is the problem here. The radar dodgers never got nominated so we get to choose between that weeks headline makers which naffs the whole program up as we are left with dullards and gameplayers in the last few weeks.
Change the voting to this......
Everyweek we all vote for the HM,s that have entertained us the most and the lowest vote gets oiked. Bit like vote to save but with a twist as we are not voting for our favs, we are voting for the most exciting. This way the HM,s will start to ham it up and drop the game playing and nastiness.
BB have created a beast that breaths fire and survives on conflict and there is only so much conflict available to get viewers. Change the ethos to make it viewable and the program will survive.

Sallie didn't go too early. We, the normal public voted to get rid of her because she was vile.

The nomination results are the main problem
However, with vote to evict, say we had 2 bores and one personality up..the personality would almost definitely go :S
Though them making it a head to head for half of the week will help that a little..but its the forums V the general public really.. :bored:
