One of those moments that will go down in BB history.

Reality TV at its best.

He was adorable, and he and Gina in the diary room together were gold. So touched and happy!

This his manners are impeccable he is far more respectful and polite than most of the pond life in that house a few of the people in there like Charlie Gina and even Dan are starting to see what nice gent he is.

Wow just seen there's two of you believed it,

it was fake,

there's no way him crying wasn't acted out, those weren't genuine tears,

I'm amazed at those who didn't spot that.

I don't think for a minute it was fake. Nobody would want to fake that especially as there was nothing to be gained by doing so.

Dexter is desperate to be liked/loved. I have never seen anyone quite so desperate for it. Unfortunately he has a personality which (it seems) his fellow HMs, and maybe people in real life as well, find creepy and unlovable.

I thought it was nice to see him emotional.

I think Dexter is a genuinely nice guy who has put on a front with all the womanizing crap. I think he's a bit socially awkward and has never had many friends because he's a bit different and was probably an easy victim for kids (and cowardly housemates!).
He puts people like Wolfy, the twins and Hazel to shame and i'd much rather have him as a friend than any of those three.
I think, if he plays it smart when they go back in, either him or Gina could win this year's BB.

He's extremely socially awkward he has said the biggest reason he's in the house is to improve his social skills he seems too have lived a sheltered life up to now I think he will be one of the people that really benefits from this experience.

It was great to see, but now that he had this moment, it could change him. Dexter is a likeable guy for the viewers, but even more so because he is the overwhelming underdog of the show. Now that he knows he is liked by the public, he could get cocky and then the fans turn and vote him out. It has happened countless times in the past, most notably with Freddie Halfwit.

Dexter is an actor.

"All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players:
They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages."

Was way too spontaneous to be fake. I can understand people thinking its fake when..for example..his name isnt called for eviction (when they know someone is going tokicked out) but they had no idea at all that they hadnt actually been evicted. He didnt have time to think that through tbh

You should be a poet or writer, Karezza! :)

Oh hang on........... didn't someone else write that? :D

Dexter has a fair bit of public support now. Unfortunately for him I suspect he'll do something to blow it. He has what one might call an unfortunate personality.

+1.

I hope not tho. He has flaws in his character we've already seen. He just needs to keep a level head and not let the power go to his head.

I think his reaction was genuine and the likely tears of great relief after a stressful week and indeed weeks.
He and Gina are a good pairing to be in the secret area and I hope they learn things that will get them annoyed too.

I do have to party poop a little the majority acclaim for Dexter as to his reaction though.
While I fully understand his reaction and was glad to see such a reaction too.
It is amazing how wonderfful it is apparantly for the man Dexter to cry at being saved but Dan gets derided and insulted as to his sexuality, also as to assumptions he must have been useless at his job too for being a man crying on the show at being put up for eviction.

Double standards clearly reign supreme.

to be fair dan crying over being nominated with 2 noms was rather pathetic . dex was nomed by all and taken far greater insults.
dan should be much tougher than he is. especially with his background.

I think Dan was paranoid about how he's being perceived to the outside world given messages being sent back and forth and reflecting on how he's being towards Wolfy. Calum's nomination was a big slap in the face to him and he just saw the house dynamics change before him and realized he has no friends in there. Coppers (however irritating they can be) are human too.

I don't see it that way myself, it doesn't matter whether you are nominated with 2 noms or all the others noms, the end result of it is you are still up for eviction.

The first time you are up for eviction is filled with equal uncertainty.so I see little difference between the 2 men crying for whatever reasons.
I do see a masisve difference for one being brought down savagely for crying while the other is acclaimed though, for any reason.
Even you say, Dan should be tougher than he is, maybe he is out of the house, in there things are not as they are outside and people bring their emotions much more to the forefront of things.

Who is to say that Dexter hasn't just been able to bottle things up more easily but many times would have liked to burst into tears.
Why should one person be hammered for allowing that emotion to break through.
We all cope with different and certainly alien situations differently.

Do you think the Police and even Detectives cannot get hurt and emotional and are also able to cry or should those in the police force be above such an emotion because I certainly don't think they should.
I wouldn't hold that against them,in fact I wouldn't hold crying against anyone and certainly wouldn't use it as a means to deride and attack them too.
Particularly as to their sexuality or how good or bad they may have been in their job.
Crying proves none of those things right to be highlighted against them.

personally i got no problem with him crying. people are who they are. i do think the reason for dans crying though was rather pathetic as basically it was to do with his ego more than anything else. he is far to desperate to win.
yeah he probably is tougher in his job. but when it comes to his ego he cant take it. think thats why he gets grief for it.
not sure about the sexuality stuff. that dont matter to me.
