He struggled from day one and was ultimately ejected but should he have been there in the first place?

This. He struggled from day one and when things were finally going for him he turns into a nutter.
I don't think ch5 are as thorough with the pysch tests and background checks etc as what channel 4 was tbh.

its the same process, edimol is the production team and that has not changed.

NO, the guy was clearly unstable, you could see that in the early days when he was constantly crying for no reason.

My point precisely - short answer - NO!

Even without this whole thing he shouldn't have passed the auditions, quite dull and he was spoken for..

Then why do they never seem to know what some of the hm's true backgrounds are these days.
Gina and Dexter and now Daley for example.

How are Gina and Dexter in the same example as Daley? they are not friutloops.

Judy James, Dr Funke and Jet from Gladiators, some of the clap trap they come out with I would do better myself, if they are performing the psych tests then any nutter could get through.
Daley's problem is that he becomes aggressive with alcohol though and Im not sure how easy that would be to spot during a normal psych test.

I wasn't insinuating they were the same as Daley but there are plenty rumours going around about their backgrounds being completely different from what we were lead to believe which makes me think BB don't do decent background checks any more.

Jackie (who hates Dexter for "treating women badly") hugged Daley last week saying he is a lovely man. :joker:

people have always lied to get into bb! on channel four they knew the type of person they where getting normal people don't make good tv!
many people have given bb stick over the years for putting in unstable housemates.

Ok, but im sure BB know that most of the HM's that go in there these days make things up to get in, but we are talking about possible unstable HM's, possible violent ones, I think those types are the problem.
I think Callum is a possible unstable character too, his manic behaviour lately should be watched closely.

Callum will be the next one to snap when he assaults Charlie

Yes, some have slipped through the net.

Daley is a nut-job who shouldn't ever have been allowed in...
Wolfy was another nut-job, but at least she survived 4 weeks without really being a threat to the other HMs.
Sooner or later Daley would have erupted into violence.

I would have a small wager on Ch5 actively colluding with that pair of chancers when they made up their backgrounds, otherwise their background checks are totally inadequate.

big brother threw the net away, bb always look for people that they can play mind games with as it makes for good tv.

C4 dwere sometimes off the ball too, I loved her but Nikki getting in baffled me, she was still clearly fighting some personal demons when she went in.

Clearly not, hes mental.
Reality shows specifically screen for people on the edge of being mentally ill, but not fully there. If anyone is really interested, I can dig up the link that explains it in more minute detail than you'd probably ever want to know, but this is the result.
Aside from that, Daley admitted on the live feed at one point, I think the night before, that he left things out when he talked to the shrinks in screening.

I said in another thread: he's highly introverted, it took a quite specific set of circumstances to set him off. Very hard for the psych screening to detect something like this in someone who is a closed book, like he initially was.
If it wasn't for the situation with Hazel - let's say, there had been no one in the house who he was romantically (wait, no... sexually) interested in then I personally believe he would have sailed through to the final as "nice guy Daley". What set him off was a cocktail of testosterone (from the flirting), alcohol (to lower his inhibitions and take away his mask), sexual frustration (from being on camera when they would clearly have had sex long before now otherwise) and ultimately... having some nasty attitudes and a controlling streak well buried under a cool exterior.
Take any one of them out of the equation and he'd probably never have "cracked". Although, it would possibly have happened eventually without alcohol... but then, it wouldn't have gone as far as it did if they hadn't been alone in the "safe" house.

Then again C4 casted Shabaz in BB7.

Daily Male displayed some rather worrying character traits at the beginning - for instance at times (which also showed up again on his walk to the diary room when they first called him in ) it was almost like he had an alter ego which said the strangest things (almost in a different voice) and spoke out loud what he was thinking when he was alone. This 'voice' only materialised when he was on his own. Strange...The warning signs were there then.
