No, it's just being an excuse for them to go overboard with twists.

No.
They havent pushed the HMs. It has been fairly standard so far. First week set up, a nominations twist mid series, a safe house where they get to watch the others, lots of food and drink, simple enough tasks.

Unless there ends up being a series long secret, then no.

It's been one of the best BBs I've seen. One of my few gripes about the show is how much the HMs seemed to know about it before they entered.
The actor storyline was fantastic, Michael did a wonderful job, although you could see him getting more stressed as his job began to take it's toll. Also I feel they ended it at the right time.
The Safe House was well worked, no one suspected it because Dex & Gina were universally disliked in the house. I say no one, of course Dan did, however his job was as a detective so it's little wonder that he can see through BB's charades.
And now we have this fake immunity, I wonder if Dan is refusing to let himself figure it out, like he just is hoping that it's real so he's giving the inquisitive side of him a break for the first time in there.
Yea so far I'm enjoying it thoroughly.

I know there will likely be groans but for me it has actually overstepped the mark this week.

Yes, but I'm holding out for more.
I've enjoyed this series so much compared to recent years. I like that they mess around with the format, okay sometimes it's going hack me off, but that's the price you pay when you start changing things.
Just when you think BB are producing better shows, they go back to VTE..

Sort of...I don't know really. It's like they have decent enough ideas, but they're such a piss poor production team that they can never execute it well enough.
The Michael twist could have been one of the best in Big Brother history, it's the one and only opportunity they had to do something like it. Yet they shoved him in the housemate's faces, made it blindingly obvious and then had him leave after a week? Eh? What's the point in that? It should've been a series long thing and he should've been able to blend into the background.
The Safe House was a good idea but the reveal which accordingly to Bentley 'ROCKED THE HOUSEEEEE' *cue explosion graphic* yet it was the most dire ****ing twist reveal in the history of this show. Like...not live on a show (I mean they do these live segments in the highlights shows now yet didn't think to use one of them for the reveal, are they that ****ing dim?) as they used to back in the old days on C4 when Davina would present, but in a 90 second clip on their sh*tty website that nearly made me pass out with boredom.
On another note, I don't like the way they did those 'vote for the pair' things with the Safe House either, since when has it been okay for the producers to decide which pairs will be the best? That's the job of the public.
This week's twist is probably the only one that (so far) looks like it may be executed well...though I shan't hold out any hope. The only issue I have is obviously the result of who Sam and Sophie picked...and the only way that could be solved is with our good old friend vote to save.
And that brings me onto a separate point...why is it that they can never listen to fans fully? We have been saying for years that the best way to get vote to save to work effectively is to have three, maybe four minimum up each week...that way the bore will always go and the biggest characters will always stay. So what do they do? Start putting three, four, five housemates up (sometimes when they've clearly not had enough nominations and they're just making the rules up as they go along) yet with a vote to evict? Well that's ****ing pointless. Like...how about, erm...keep vote to save, and then put numerous housemates up each week? Just like we asked...
So yeah, I kind of expected a bit 'more' really. The twist ideas themselves haven't been awful, they've just been executed dreadfully.
I kind of really hope there's some major 'secrets and lies' twist that's revealed on finale night, like one of the housemates has been an actor all along...the entire cast are a bunch of actors, something really big like that. Sadly, I don't think they have the brains or the creativity to pull something like that off. Oh well.
