View Full Version : Dont Blame Hazel!

I am sick of listening about the daley thing! stop blaming hazel for what happened..he said he had no girlfriend...she appeared and said they loved each other? get a grip everyone she got well paid for pretending to cry and shes the one who took daley from his wife and two boys..it takes two to tango just like theres two sides to every story and BB certainly did not think about that.
BB has incited hatred for hazel and should be ashamed of the treatment she is getting. Obviously they want Gina to win, so really they dont give a s**t what the public thinks because they are influencing the outcome.
If this is what BB is all about then its time to call it a day!

To be honest, I don't think anyone gives a toss about Hazel at this stage. Even her friend Dan has said it might be best if she gets evicted... which we can be pretty sure she will be in a week's time.
Hazel can then concentrate on damage limitation and trying to save her career. She's better out than in!

I agree with OP. Hazel seems so genuine and nice. The word jealousy springs to mind

Hazel is an interesting character, everyone just keeps scapegoating their hate upon her for no validated reason... some of the comments I've seen on here have really astounded.
i hate hazel can not stand that woman, i wish she would leave already

I wouldn't quite describe Hazel as "nice". She's definitely a feisty character but the irrational hate that gets heaped on her just makes me support her all the more. :D
The Hazel/Daley stuff highlights just how bad sexism still is.

I don't particularly like her - she is not someone I'd want to meet, but I too have been slightly taken aback by the level of sheer hatred.
I think a lot of it is coming from women. Well, if the BOTS audience is anything to go by!

I dunnooo... tonight's HL sort of showed a lot of HMs feeling a bit sorry for her, she might avoid nomination (if they keep it "vanilla"... there will probably be some stupid twist or other  ).
As for "damage limitation" and "saving her career", I genuinely have no idea why people think any of this is going to do anything other than raise her public profile and help her career. She wants to be a glamor model... guess what? The target audience of glamor models isn't angry, jealous, probably unattractive women who bang on about "girl codes" (Hazel haters).
Like Dexter said (yaaay, some great Hexter action tonight) if you poke your head over the fence, you become a target. She's been noticed. It doesn't matter that a lot of the attention is negative. She'll do fine.

Hazel's piercing eyes are both her asset and her downfall. They do look truly evil at times.
I can see why people pick up on it.

After this week, people really need to move on. She got what she deserved this week after what she did prior. After that, as long as she doesn't cock anything else up, give her a second chance. I don't think she's done anything wrong this week.

Well said, and i feel likewise. What ever the pros and cons of her time in the safe house it would have been a negative experiance for her to have to deal with. She then gets hit by some of the public voted tasks. The fact that both must have hurt but she has taken them on the chin and kept going does her credit.Faced with a simular double whammy some of the other housemates male and female would not have reacted in such a brave way.
I think the viewing ,voting public do have a sence of fair play on balance and when the next proper evictions come round even if up i do not think Hazel is a certainty to go.

I cant be doing with the cold hearted bitch and it has nothing to do with her tendancy to destroy boxers lives.
Just the fact that she has already stated that her appearance on the show is part of a well managed career opportunity is enough for me to label her a cold calculating slut.
If she wants to play the game she has to live by its rules.

Who is/was openly or obviously there for career reasons:
Hazel, Dan, Twins, Dexter, Gina, Charlie, Sallie.
None of the others get the constant scorn that Hazel gets. Again this feels like an excuse.

I found it funny how she is the homewrecker and yet it was daley who had the girlfriend and told hazel that they had split just before going in :S how that makes her a homewrecker is beyond me, i'm pretty sure if a girl came up to me and i thought she had a boyfriend but then she told me she had just split from him, that would signal to me a green light to continue. so daley gave the green light and hazel went for it. lets not forget that daley's girlfriend took daley away from his other mrs and his kids. crazy how many jealous people there own, i've honestly seen nothing from hazel to make me hate her so much, she isn't the nicest girl but nothing she has done has been that extreme.
why are these women hating her so much?? she is the one who got pinned down and threatened to be headbutted not the other way around. is this the world we're living in to make excuses up to justify that type of behaviour.

Why stop there?
From Alex Sibley, a model, to Anthony Hutton, a dancer, they are all in it for the fame, the money, their 15 minutes. As for celeb BB, its all about their careers.
And dont forget the big brother presenters, Davina, Dermot, Russel, they have all milked the show for all it was worth.

Hazel's piercing eyes are both her asset and her downfall. They do look truly evil at times.
I can see why people pick up on it.
She paints on her eyebrows at an unnatural angle, slanted downwards, which makes her look evil / intimidating, as a deliberate attempt to convey strength. Probably has done for years. She looks much softer / nicer without makeup on, such as during the task, but note that she also feels uncomfortable and exposed.
Also of note: Daley forcefully stating that he prefers her without it. Probably because without her mask on, he felt more dominant. The whole conversation was way outside her comfort zone.
So yeah... Those "evil eyes" are a trick with makeup that she does deliberately for probably complex reasons. I maintain that she is a MUCH more fascinating character than most of them, because she's not an open book (or a contrived character).
She is desperate to appear strong and really is admirably stoic, as Dexter and a few others picked up on last night, she takes things that are obviously upsetting her squarely on the chin and doesnt throw a hysterical tantrum like the rest of them (bar Dexter) would have by now.
Of course, most other women (and some men) simply do not like strength or assertiveness in women. Certainly not pre-menopausal women, anyway.
That is people's real issue with Hazel and Daley and they probably dont even know it. Charlie / dexter is the same situation but people don't have the same response. why? because Dexter, the male, is the pursuer and Charlie the passive girl giggling away.
With Daley and Hazel - although Daley wad the first to show interest (hand-writing) - hazel was the one pursuing. Too assertive. People can't handle it. because people, it turns out, really are sexist.
And the funny thing is, I didn't believe it until all of this. I've always said that modern feminism is pointless, that there is equality, that these issues are imagined but they're clearly not - the general public is blatantly misogynistic when a female falls outwith their expected role or personality. And do you know what the biggest revelation to me is? it's not men. Men are not the problem. Most men really are "getting there" when it comes to being unsexist and unbiased.
its other women! Women hate women. It's absolutely bizarre.

What do you actually know about her life o ba able to make that claim.? Its sad that you feel so strongly about people on a game show that you feel its necessary to insult them from a view point of ignorance.

Oh if we went through every year the list would take up a whole page. Sophie who won is probably the best example: she was openly there for exactly the same reason, she wanted to become a glamour model. But she was harmless and dippy so the public loved her.

And she tried the showmance early on too. And had she been up in the first few weeks, she would have been out before she could blink.

The language that's been used when some people discuss is sickening.
Dexter has streaked around the garden (*shudder...*) virtually licked Charlie's face in an effort to make her notice him and all the time he has a girlfriend. Has anyone called him a slut? No... Because he has a penis.
Hazel has weathered the tirade of nastiness that was thrust upon her, by what is probably a bunch of insecure women voting on the BB website. Had it been any other female in there - especially Gina - no way would they have got on with it with the good grace that Hazel showed.
She's still my favourite, she has more character than anyone else in there.

I know there are a few women on here who are vocally supportive of Hazel and of course there are plenty of men who are idiots and will happily brand her "a "slut" - probably the same sort of men who, if they cheated on their partner - would try to blame a "slut homewrecker" to avoid the blame...
However its pretty undeniable that most of the public "hazel hating", including on here, has come from other females.
It's also females who are quicker to defend the Daley Safehouse incident, just have a glance at YouTube comments on the videos of it.
It's a bit of an obscure phenomenon if you ask me, it seems to be something pretty deep-rooted in our society.
Yes women have equal rights and have done for several years but there clearly is a bias and a sort of subconscious favouritism that still goes on in society at large... Men get away with more, are less likely to be demonized for the same things.
Here's an obvious example: what do you think would have happened if it was Hazel who had a boyfriend, and Daley that was single? Would Daley have been blasted for breaking the "bro code"? Would he be deemed a homewrecker? No probably not. Hazel would still have been branded a slut.
By women.
Theres clearly still a massive imbalance somewhere in society but it has little to do with the attitudes of men.

I do see what you're saying, and I agree with almost all of it. There is no mystical "sisterhood", generally, women would throw each other under a bus for the sake of a man, so the pseudo-outrage against Hazel is quite pathetic.
Many women are more understanding of Daley than Hazel because they want to give out the message to men "Look, I get you... you can be yourself with me... I'm not like other women". However, a lot of real women would have ripped Daley a new arsehole if he'd got all bristly and head-butty with them.
When I talk about women's rights I suppose I'm talking about it from my own angle, working in a male-dominated job. We're not just home-makers and breeders anymore, although some women make that hard to believe.

I just found it crazy on bbbots how many women feel so strongly against Hazel, if you have been following this forum throughout the whole Hazel and daley, i've been 100% on Hazels side. I hate this whole thing about her pulling his pants down, and people going well if it was in the work place then, no just stop there, were not in a work place, they were in a safe house yes on national tv but they weren't to know it was completely getting filmed and aired at that moment in time, they were alone, in a dark room and drunk, you can't compare that to if i walked into my place of work and pulled someones pants down lol.
the craziest thing that someone has come up with tho, is this whole Dexter thing, why isn't Dexter getting the same hate, when he actually does have a girlfriend, and how crazy is Emma on wednesday when one of the panel questioned it, and Emma went oooo it's just Dexter being Dexter well it just proves how sexiest we all can be i think

Good post, Bez, I agree. And yeah, I've been surprised by Emma.
I am so tired of hearing Hazel fans tell those of us that don't like hazel that we are silly jealous women or that we are sexist. Is it that hard to comprehend that to some she is not likeable.
Some of the reasons why I don't like her is that on the morning after the Sallie/Gina spat ,fair enough hazel had befriended Sallie but whilst talking about it to Gemima Hazel shrugged her shoulders and told Gemima that it was a bad move as she(Gina) had now alienated herself from the group.I hate that sort of pack mentality.
A few days later she told Dan that on the previous night she had taken a bottle of red wine and put it back in the hatch so that Gina couldn't have it.If Hazel was drinking that night (which she wasn't)and felt that Gina had more than her fair share I would have respected her taking her fair share but she didn't ,she took it to be spiteful.
The night Wolfy broke down in Hazel 's arms telling Hazel that she was being bullied by her mate Dan Hazel changed towards Dan,the following morning she compeletly changed towards him and had no time for him .Although I am not a Dan fan I can see the difference that no matter what is thrown at Hazel he stands by her ,first sign of trouble with Dan and she turns her back on him.
As regard the Daley thing .I am glad he has been kicked out of the house.Yes he was the one in a relationship /Hazel was single. He was more to blame and if that was my husband of course I would be more angry with him .If I was single I would not want to get involved with a bloke where he and everyone around me refered to another woman as his GF.Yes Daley changed his story when Hazel and him became "connected".On the night of the Hazel/Wolfy eviction Hazel commented on hearing some shout "homewrecker Hazel"(which I don't agree with that term)she was called to the DR after the safe house twist was announced and told BB that if she was sent to the safe house she would like it to be with Daley .But the morning after Daley went all Ike Turner on her she spoke about Daley's GF to Dan and Charlie and told them she didn't need that drama in her life but she was happy enough trying to pull him into her bed the night before. And no that does not mean she deserved how he behaved but it certainley does not make he character at all likeable.

For the first week or two Daley did have a GF. He mentioned how much he adored her on a number of occasions. When Hazel showed interest he said that he didn't have a GF and that she finished things before he entered the house, which his GF denied.

Excellent down to earth post. I too am sick of the victimisation of one gender over another. Daley was more to blame as you say he led her on regarding negative comments about his outside relationship.
Its agame show and all have a right to play that game with willing partners. daley was willing more than willing. He cooked his own goose and should take full responsibility for his disloyalty and stupidity.
Hazel is single, she has to answer to no one and should not have so much blame and down right silly immature hatred directed towards her.

No one's expected to like everyone. What gets me down is the vile language that's been used against Hazel, and I find it expecially objectionable when it comes from women. That's what marks people out as jealous or sexist. Of course not everyone is going to like Hazel, but some people would like to tar and feather her and drag her through the streets. It's ridiculous...

I think Hazel has been unlucky in this series.
The popularity of Gina must have baffled her.

100% agree!

Good post, Bez, I agree. And yeah, I've been surprised by Emma.
I really don't want to come across as a woman hater lol i feel bad hahahahaha.
But one thing i'll say is not right, how anyone can call Hazel a sl*t i mean just because she flirts with someone does not make someone a sl*t, i think people have forgotten what the word means and just throw it around like there kids, well they are probably kids.
the other thing is like someone else has stated, if it was the other way round would anyone care that Daley was hitting on Hazel and she was in a relationship :S no of course not Hazel would of got it in the neck. we are so sexiest it's untrue. Us lads can do anything we want and it's always the womens fault, from men and women.

It's baffled me too. After her blatant playing of the race card just a couple of days in... after her tiresome bad-mouthing of virtually everyone in the diary room followed by her outrage when BB informs her of something that's been said about her (while never passing on anything Gina's said)... I'm amazed she so popular. And there's the suggestion that she's rich and has been privately educated. Her tenuous grasp on grammar and syntax suggests to me her parents should be looking for a refund. Also, she's supposed to live at the Savoy, yet she can't use a knife and fork properly, so I'm guessing she just gets room service all the time?
I'm hoping people see sense about Gina and stop being so impressed because they think she's loaded.

I find Hazel an ice cold biatch ,who went for Daly and airtime .Hazel only thinks of Hazel and she was going all out to get the column inches.
I find it utterly bizarre that she is in that house stating she is unaware why the public might dislike her.

Im often shocked at how twisted women can be in relation to other women.
I recently read that one of the members of little mix got actual death threats for going out with a member of 1D. I cant imagine ever being able to put myself into that sort of mindset.
Most women do have a competive side towards other women. Its normal. Men like to compete against each other, while women like to compare each other.
Sport can often bring out the worst in men. That need to beat the oposition into plup. I think that shows like BB, along with the internet, amplify that side of women. That need to compete against other women.
Im not saying that all women fall for this, which is the same with men and sports, but enough do to make it noticable, almost a cliche.

How thick she must be for not thinking people might have moved on. If she was clever then she'd realise that the public want their pound of flesh, one way or another, and the vindictive arseholes will wait weeks maybe months to see her suffer . How dumb she must be for thinking people had better things to think about?

I too find the hatred of Hazel worrying, vile and moronic in some cases. This is BB for goodness sake. My disgust was with BOTS and their totally one sided, ratings attracting interview of the so called GF. That was totally wrong without all parties there to either defend or discuss the situation. Once again BB stirring their tawdry pot of sleaze to up the viewing figures and to hell with the people involved.

i hope people see gina for the sneer she is, shes been doing it since the begining and doesnt give a damn who she hurts. GINA and DEXTER the biggest gameplayers and so far up each others backsides its sickening. without hazel in that house it would have been so boring.

I keep reading how Daley's now ex "stole" him from his previous g.f. This is obviously rubbish; he was "stolen" he went of his OWN accord, or are people suggesting he was forced?.:nono:

I agree with OP. Hazel seems so genuine and nice. The word jealousy springs to mind
Jealousy? In all honesty I don't find her attractive. I know everyone is supposed to see her as this Irish bombshell but I honestly don't she looks like a drag queen. :bawling: And even if she was attractive I would more likely fancy her than be jealous. Get her out :bawling::bawling:
