Producer agenda.

Every single year without fail we have the same cries of 'Fix' and'The producers fault' blah blah.

Its a massive Myth that the people in charge behind the scenes favour one housemate over another.

That they go out of their way to show bias towards one housemate because for some bizarre reason the 'producers' want a certain winner. What on earth is to gain from having a certain demographic win the show?

Every presenter that is appointed ends up feeling the wrath of the fans.

Poor Emma puts up with so much
She is constantly critiscised if she dare have an opinion on the housemates.

Guess what, this isn't MI5. Nothing bad will happen if Emma has a negative opinion towards a housemate.

Take Dexter. If she dislikes Dexter its because he's not a nice person. EVERYONE can see that.

His fans seem to think hes lovely and is getting a hard time but hes actually just an idiot.

So if Emma doesnt like then shes entitled to speak her mind. She isnt going to influence votes. Most people are stubborn enough to vote the way they want.

Kindly back off Emma. Shes a great host, a huge fan of the show and shes entitled to treat the villain as the villain.

Dunno why you have used Dexter as an example of Emmas supposed bias tbh.It seems she quite likes him

The only one who he is extremely obvious in her hatred for, is Hazel.

It might be bull**** about the producers wanting someone to win, but surely you can see why people think that sometimes? I will use Aaron bb12 as an example. They went as far as to literally cut him off midsentence to change what he was saying totally. This might not mean they are against him, maybe(and more likely) the other meaning fit the storyline/the character they had made for him better, but things like that are why people think its dodgy.

Very well put! Love your succinct observation re: Dexter.... He IS just an idiot!

In fact the producers' can and do have their own agenda, think of the horrid Nikki saga and having a programme created for her (or maybe for the channel). The twins seem to be angling for their own terribly funny show and with judicious editing they may well get it!

I do think the producers have an agenda, but its nothing about the winner. I think they create certain characters for the housemates, and only show things that fit that character. The reason for this is quite simple in my eyes, to make more money. Create a very hated character, more money in evictions. Create a saint, more money in the final.

I think they use BOTS to push this further.

Your talking about the days on channel 4 when it got 5-8 million viewers. When people cared what happened to the characters outside the show.

Its on channel 5. Noone has a career outside the show anymore

I used to agree, but this series I've been counting how many times Big Brother have given each housemate their own task or airtime and its very uneven as it stands right now.

There are loads of reality shows now and viewer interest is spread very thinly.

BB no longer has a monopoly. Eventually, I think it will become a celeb version only. The media, Daily Star apart, don't give a toss about housemates dragged off the streets unless something bad happens in the house.

Until the presenters and the producers demonstrate some impartiality and a lot less bias, the accusations will continue.

They dont want people to think its fair their job is to stir it up.
The fact its raised a discussion is a positive.

Well actually it does matter if the audience is aware of the main presenters favourites.

Persenters like Davina, Dermot and Russel managed to keep the show entertaining and interesting without bias. Ok, sometimes they slipped. But for the most part they acted like professionals and allowed the audience to make up their own mind.

Now dont get me wrong, I like Emma. I think shes good at her job and good for the show. But when on screen she represents the program, not herself.

How would we react if Marcus, the narrator, started booing certain HMs while he spoke? Or if he started saying things like "and dull as dishwater sophie is still in the bedroom - you'd think she had forgotten that shes on tv". The very thought ruins the entire concept of BB. Therefore it should be the same for the presenters.

Also most fans of the show loved Davina, she became the face of the program, simply because she spoke for everyone, not for herself.

Emma just needs to alter her approach a bit. It's not hard!

Well, if the complete assassination and persecution of a woman is fair, while the male involved gets a huggy "you're so brave" interview... then I'll give it till the end of this series before adults start to tune out in disgust.

Emma just needs to alter her approach a bit. It's not hard! Why would she? her aproach is carefully managed to provoke discussion.
It obviously works.

Yeah, that's why it's done... to provoke discussion. Like that great debates and oration they have on BBBOTS.

She can provoke discussion without showing overt bias.

She still has a lot to learn.

 I'm going to tweet Emma next Friday if/when Hazel gets evicted if she lets that god awful crowd get abusive and if her interview isn't as calm and reserved as Daley's was.Which of course it won't be, and I expect she'll just stand there and let Hazel take all the abuse the moronic crowd want to hurl at her.

Dexter actually is a lovely person, with a kind heart - he's just playing a game. Which is what you're meant to do. Stop acting like your word is gospel.
