If Sam can't hear Emma speaking, then they need to do something about it.

Perhaps - like Jack said, put her face on the screen; which alot of us on here have said a few times (prior to BB14 even starting).

Because when Sam is evicted, it's going to be quite awkward for him if he doesn't know what's happening.

Imagine Emma calling his name out to leave the house, and he's sitting there like oblivious to everything.

As much as I've branded him a bore, it isn't really fair - Big Brother could surely turn the volume up when Emma is speaking or something, right?

Sam will realise that he's the next one out because he'll be the only one left in there!

I was thinking about this the other night too when he had no idea what was happening, He probably doesn't want any preferential treatment though.

Absolutely agree with the twins there too. It's not fair that he can't hear what Emma is saying. BB would only have to make a small change to help. I think the twins also suggested that BB could even just increase the volume of the speakers. That would obviously increase the volume of the crowd too though so not sure how effective that would be.

Absolutely. They should do something about this.

Sam doesn't have max hearing but he does have some, so isn't there some way they could turn his microphone/earpiece up so they can relay what is said through that?

I dont think turning it up would help, think he needs to read lips, he has 80% hearing loss

Raising the volume would be worse. The best thing would be to cut out crowd noise completely. With hearing aids it is difficult to single out one voice in a noisy group.

they need to just get him an earpiece to use during evictions

Regardless of housemate preference you are right it is something they should have taken into account by now whether it be via onscreen or a pager or whatever.
Respect you for that.
If we can get subtitles why cant he?

Yep I agree with this as well. However its not how loud Emma is but how load the background noise is (the crowd). They need to put Emma on the screen with no crowd noise in order to allow Sam to understand fully what is going on.

I personally think they should just do away with crowd-chanting altogether. I'd LOVE to see a year where they truly, completely, have absolutely no outside contact until the very end and have no idea who is popular / unpopular. No "Giiina Giiina Giiina!", no "get [week's villain] out!!" ... just have them in a knowledge vacuum for the whole 10 weeks. Would be great!

Simple, a flashing sign on the House Monitor "Sam, you have been evicted, please leave the Big brother House"

He has housemates to relay the messages to him that are important. If he gets evicted they'll tell him. Don't see why he needs anything special at all. Callum was relaying everything that went on.

Yeah I think they should consider giving him an earpiece during evictions and such. As someone who has hearing issues I know how annoying it feels to constantly ask people to repeat themselves or to fill you in on a situation when you couldn't hear it.

I think they should make the eviction announcement inside of the pod studio on the occasions where Sam is nominated and make it louder. That way they can't hear the crowd and Emma can talk louder.
