Dan doesn't have the right persona for entertainment - he's way too earnest.

He's fallen into the trap of seeing way TOO many gay men on TV and thinking he can walk into a presenting job just by being erm, gay and camp.

I remember there was a day last year when Graham Norton, Alan Carr and Paul O'Grady had chat shows on exactly the same time. Plus there's Brian Dowling, Justin and Colin, Gok Wan, Alistair Appleton, Brendan Courtney, Simon Amstell, the late Kristian Digby (RIP). Even Antony Cotton had his chat show for a while? Why because he was gay (Zzzzzzzzz).

If TV is so concerned about LGBT where are the lesbian and transgendered presenters then?

I believe shes a "socialite", which translates to a wannabe who gets paid to show up. If thats the case, the yes, she would have an agent. Probably the same person who made a "name" for her in the press, which gave her a chance at BB, which will increase her socialite value...

I agree with Alex that Dan is too earnest to do a shallow show like BBBOTS. The other day I was thinking about what he would be good at.. and I honestly believe he would be an excellent NEWSREADER!. He has charm, depth and intelligence....so TV news producers.. get Dan on your lists. :colour:

Still not seeing many non-camp gay men on TV.

People keep referring to ex-rugby/ CBB HM Gareth Thomas as a non-camp Welsh man but he was really camp. He loved Girls Aloud for crying out loud and spent alot of time gossiping with hag Nicola McClean. Camp.

Agree. With a bit of training (autocue etc) Dan could handle BOTS.

I also agree with you as to replacing AJ, not just Dan but I would support anyone taking her place on bbbots.

That is a good idea though, he could have a slot, going through their best and worst bits and then let him really get into the interviews,putting many on the spot likely too.
