Blackburn is Lancashire...
It sounds so hard to talk that way, like she really has to put in an effort.
Jesus.

Four thousand holes in Blackburn, Lancashire.

Sounds perfectly fine to me. I like her accent. I like most of the northern accents. Then again, I'm from the North and a little sick of so rarely hearing accents that reflect anything north of the Watford Gap on TV.
The South has an absolute cultural dominance in this country.

I don't think it's the accent. It's her awful croaky voice.
Even if she spoke with BBC "RP", it would sound like an effort.

I suspect it is because she is over enunciating. She is fairly new to presenting and this is one of the ways in which it shows.

I wouldn't say its specifically a Blackburn accent, its just a typical North Manchester accent.

The thing is, it's not. I'm pretty sure she's Nigerian and I get no hint if that accent in her voice.

For goodness sake, it's Blackburn. Pure Blackburn. Not Blackburn mixed with anything else. Just Blackburn.
I grew up in Bolton, a pebbles throw from Blackburn.
