Who do you guys prefer as host of Big Brother? Davina McCall, Emma Willis or Brian Dowling?

I prefered Davina as host...
She was funny and didn't go red in the face when she made a mistake. She just made a joke out of it and moved on. I like that in a host. :hugesmile:

Brian I think wasn't really given enough of a chance - he was inexperienced and had VASTLY improved from the first series he did (he was awful and very nervous then) and might well have improved year on year. That said, I'm pretty sure he was axed for budgetary reasons; too expensive to keep both him and Emma on as her pay has probably been increasing.

Davina was far superior to Emma though. Emma is a great BBBots presenter, better than Davina was when she tried her hand at it, because Bots is supposed to be very informal / just a bit of a laugh... but Davina was the better main show presenter by a mile. More professional, usually unbiased (though she had her moments...) and a much stronger interviewer. Maybe Emma will improve with time? I don't know. Her established persona just doesn't translate well into a proper interview.

I think the main thing for me was the interviewing skills, Davina is far far superior to both Brian and Emma on that and that's a massively important part of being the main host. I don't really care if they can't read autocue well or if they mess their lines sometimes but I want a proper interview of the evicted HMs

Emma, who I'm basing on from her years with BOTS. I think it's hard to compare Emma with Davina as Davina had a good ten years at the job.

I do think Emma is more natural than Davina.

Davina without a doubt,...Emma has tried to model herself on Davina, but it just dose'nt work,..not too mention that her voice is really grating'...and Brian Dowling,...the less said the better!...

Davina was okay the first few years but in the last couple of years she turned into a caricature.

All that gurning and stupid talk was driving me away from the show.

As regards Dowling. What an utter embarrassment. Not only that but his waxwork face scared me.

He looked like an embalmed Liberace.

That different people like different people is as healthy as it gets.
But for me, Emma stands head and shoulders over the other two. I've seen her on most of her recent tv stuff and think it's great how diverse she can be. I also love the way she flicks her fringe and let's her native accent creep in to her oratory (sharp 'a's etc.) Her folk at home probably think she's completely ditched her accent, through Uni (I'm guessing) and tv. But to a Londoner's ears she still has that lovely little twang.
She's also got a great personality, and (sorry to be shallow) is very, very pretty.

Davina was the original and in the heyday of BB she was amazing!:thumbs:
She kinda' sucked towards the end though.
I think Emma is doing a good job and is infinitely better then Brian ever was. Brian was bloody awful!!!:nono:

Davina was good up until the last few series when she started to get pretty annoying. Emma is ok at the stage stuff and can easily link the live show together between the breaks, but her interviews are terrible and she shows bias towards different housemates too much. We should never know who the host likes and doesn't like in a tv show. One thing that irritated me was in Friday's live show when she asked an audience member who she wanted to see evicted, and she said Callum. Emma then shounded shocked, "why? he's not done much wrong!" WHY ASK THEN?! :nono: Brian was creepy and made for uncomfortable viewing sometimes, particularly when he would jump all over male housemates. His interviews were also terrible. Was he getting better? Yes, but it would have took him years to get fully bearable by which point the show will likely have already been cancelled!

Truthfully I don't think we've ever had a 'perfect' BB presenter. I'll go for Davina because she was really good "back in the day".

Emma is good but she is just a c5/poundshop version of davina and we all know it.
i didnt even have to click the vote results to know who voted brian he was a poopy presenter but a complete legend as a housemate both times.

Davina as she epitomises everything about early Big brother when it was amazing. Emma does a good job though but Davina any day of the week.

Brian was a great housemate with empathy for what it's like in the house but he is no presenter.

In order:

1)Davina - she was a good host until the later years, she made the show what it was!

2)Emma - she is doing a fantastic job, I just wish they would make her script less filled with cliches.

Brian does not rank - he was just awful. God, did you see him on Tipping Point last night?! So cringey.

Loved Davina. Emma is decent, although I think better suited to BOTS then the main show. Brian was atrocious imo.

Emma is doing amazing but to me Davina will always be the Queen of BB! Emma is the 2nd Queen of BB. :D

Davina was the best even though I think she lost her way at the end.

Brian was terrible at everything. He even had the cheek to say Aaron would not win because the British public want someone good to win! If he was doing his job better he would have known that Aaron had HUGE support.

Emma is a nice lady but I find her bland and would much prefer an edger host.
